So apparently it was something that happened just before the draft that got mike richards canned.

It involves some incident at the border according to Elliot friedman.

I'm guessing he was trying to smuggle drugs across.

That team is hilarious.

You can't trade the twins for picks and prospects. A significant amount of salary has to come back. Even in their last year and traded at the deadline, their hypothetical new team would have to absorb approximately 7m in real salary combined for the rest of the season.

You have to remember that they represent approximately 20% of the cap. In my view, they are virtually untradeable (with a small chance in their last year.)

- RealityChecker

I did mention I was just speaking in hypotheticals, and yes I understand you'd have to take salary back if that were to ever happen and the team you're trading them to has no cap space....which it won't.

A team like Philly, lets say for poops and giggles, would/could be something that'd work. Giroux is 27, Voracek is 26, they're in their prime.Just want to clarify I'm not saying this is a real possibility!!! They have some dead-weight there, but they've also got a collection of kids now.

Trade the twins and their 14 million dollars combined for Lecavalier, Umberger, Barzal, Sanheim, Brayden Schenn and a pick?

THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE NOT REALITY!!!!!!!!!!

So you'd like to spend Millers salary on some defense so the team can remain in the 16 to 25 draft position?
- LeftCoaster

We are stuck with Miller I get it. Hopefully he has a stellar year, as do those who defend if front of him. On defence I think we will see a UFA signing on the cheap, or a Clendenning like hockey trade. Hoping 5-12 draft position.

It's hard to do that on a forum as many don't follow the flow of a thread. People that are looking for an argument tend to glaze through alot and then find that one thing they go off on.

All the footage of Boeser I have seen shows a guy with a great snipe and a nose for the net.

Some day guys... Some day... The Canucks will no longer be a perimeter team.

When we do, the NHL will change the rules to make perimeter teams to have better chances at winning the Cup.

No.

I don't believe you said the Canucks lost to the Flames because, the D-Core was not practicing.

I generally enjoy your posts.

After watching what happened here the other day I think we could all try a little harder to get along.

I have been here a while and watched many Canucks Posters come and go, but you guys for the most part are a pretty good lot and have been fairly consistent.

It was tough to watch what happened go down.

I think we need to realize this is going to be a 3-5 year process with this team. It's going to be a rough ride for a couple years and we need to accept that instead of trying to fire our GM or trade our goalies every 5 minutes.

We have been pretty spoiled over the last 10-13 years with our team and don't think for one second that fans of other teams are going to let that go easily. Success ( at least for a Canucks fan-- Still no cup ) breeds haters.

Of course. DUH!

I'm not sure how I would react to the Canucks ever winning a cup.

I remember Boston Red Sox Fans talking about their team when they won the World Series 10 or so years ago saying " I think we are going to be disappointed that we're not disappointed "

After a while you get comfortable with misery.

This should clear up a lot of things. Wasn't even close.

"Benning treads delicately when talking about Bieksa, saying “he hasn’t asked to be traded and I haven’t approached him on waiving his no-trade.”

Edit: He must have talked to his agent, or why would he be house hunting in San Jose, unless that was BS as well.

Things are going to get heated around here from time to time. We are all big boys. Vantel can take it so can Booner. Nucker came back after a break. I have got into it with Retinalz and Blechrd in the past. Everyone of disagrees on a lot of different issue. Thats the point of being here. If we agreed all the time it would be boring as $hit.

Most of the posters on here are great, I take all drama with a grain of salt. I laugh at the clowns like Vantels stalker who come in here stirring things up. At the end of the day everyone if frustrated with the team right now and ranting, fair enough.
