If Del Zotto signs his qualifying offer, which is very doubtful, and the Flyers try and put him through waivers, it's doubtful he would clear.
- MJL

Question...a team can still trade a qualified RFA? What about trading a player going through arbitration? I believe if the Flyers accept an arbitration ruling they can not trade a player for one year ala ROR. Is MDZ eligible for arbitration?

If MDZ gets sent down, that means he's playing like garbage and mostly likely the Flyers would jump for joy to have someone take him.

Richards would've been arrested, and we would know about it. How could that not be reported at this point in time?
- MJL

If it's an ongoing investigation involving other parties, he would not be formally arrested. Much like a RICO arrest.

That's why I doubt they went that route, you know they have a load of lawyers and CBA experts and the NHL gave it their blessing.

That's why I think it's bigger than just making a silly mistake. I hope I'm wrong. I always found Ritchie as a good guy.

That is a good question, and I will be honest: I don't know exactly who has jurisdiction on a border violation, or where you get sent

I will say this: There are things called "holds," for as much as 72 hours and possibly more with extensions, where you can be held on suspicion of a crime but not formally charged -- but usually, there is paperwork with that

However, if it's federal, you also have to know where to look, then who to ask, to see that paperwork

It is entirely possible, if no one has seen Richards in days, that he is sitting in a federal detention cell

I am not even joking

I believe once arbitration is chosen, by either the team or a player, he can't be traded until the arbitration award is given, then the team has the option to accept, or walk away, and the player becomes a free agent. They can work out a deal before the hearing though. I could be wrong, but that's how I think it works. I think you're right about the one year deal. I believe he is eligible.

I like a lot of "stupid" comedies, but yes Neighbors was one of those "stupid" not very funny comedies.

Good point. Apparently some media people know what allegedly happened also.

What's more telling is...they won't say. Media people crave to be the first to blab, even hockey guys. I get the whole personal issues and rumors, but if its true and they were allowed to say...boom everyone would know or it would get leaked by a more less credible source like TMZ.

EDIT: Why would someone tweet "I know something you don't know". Doesn't really help them much.

That kind of tells me the sources may not be confirmed, and it's not yet concrete enough to report. You know that every hockey writer is feverishly working to be able to break the story.

But for every writer that is ethical and wants to make sure its credible, there's 100 scumbags that would blab the details as anonymous. Only reason that makes me believe there is a gag order.

I think it could be as simple as they also don't know exactly where Richards tried to cross, so you don't immediately know whose jurisdiction it is to look for the paperwork you are searching for -- if it is even processed yet

For instance, say Richards got popped at the border at, oh, 2 p.m. on a Friday -- this is just an example, by the way, of how, the process works

You aren't getting arraigned on the weekend for a federal charge in the States, so you would have to sit for the weekend on a hold, wait for your Monday hearing, then that paperwork has to be processed. The Feds move at their own pace; if they slapped another hold on you, it could be even longer

Those are valid questions, the ones about where is the paperwork

Depending on what happened, it might not even have been released yet

Again, that is just an example of a weekend arrest, nothing more

So how about that Draft!!

Provorov
The guy I wanted like crazy not named McDavid or Eichel.

Konecny
Super surprised, really wanted Guryanov or Svechnikov, but I think the kid is going to be the "I can't believe they passed on him"

Felix Sandstrom
So hyped the Flyers got him, I think people are going to be excited about this kid in 3-4 years. I mocked him in the 3rd round, but thought he would go later.

Matej Tomek
I was really really hoping for Sandstrom, but to get Tomek too...WOW. I see great potential depth for these two and Stolarz.

Kase and Marody
Promising raw projects, hoping for a gem out of one of them.

Ivan Fedotov
Who? *shrugs*
