They signed VdV for an incredibly low number. You can't be upset about that money that he's getting.

The Flyers basically have VdV and PEB for about what Max Talbot costs by himself.

If being out of shape or doing drugs is part of it then most athletes would be terminated the second they dip below expected production.

The league should have the opportunity to suspend Richards before The Kings can "terminate" him. I mean that's what's stopping the the Kings from buying out Voynov, right?

At least make them wait until after FA has settled.

I would expect that from the NHLPA, since they were probably informed of this very recently. Richards is represented by a very high powered law firm.

Just thinking out loud here, the NHL could be opening a bad can of worms here. If they terminate Richards contract based on an off ice incident, that possibly didn't involve an arrest, they are setting a standard here. Any other off ice incident by another player, of the same basic level of seriousness, then has to be dealt with similarly. Or at least that is what I would argue if I was the Richards camp, or the NHLPA. I keep getting back to if it is an off ice incident, if there is no arrest, how bad could it be?

My point was that everyone is speculating that it's drugs or something of that ilk, and with Lombardi supposedly finding out about it on Friday, that its been 3 days and nohting has been made public.

Makes it hard for me to believe that it's a legal issue.

Wow what ever Richards did it cost him millions and millions of dollars. What an idiot he is... good god. So sad to see this type of downfall for what was my favorite flyer in the past 10 years.
