Does anyone know if there a deadline for the scenario where Vinny agrees to mutual contract termination? Or can it happen at any point in the season/off season after his bonus is paid? - Baxter27
I think it can happen at any time... common to hear of Euros, in particular, terminating in-season and going home. |

Any time technically. The bonus is just something we expect him to want. He'd more than likely not want to miss the free agency rush and terminate immediately following the paid out of the bonus |

Didn't the reports say that Gagner played the right side last year? - johndewar
Gagner has said that he can and will be happy to play either of the three forward positions.

I don't see laughton with the big club this year. Read coots schenn if that's a line thst can't be messed with than you need Both a left wing and center for simmonds. I don't see laughton being thst guy yet so let's insert gagner got argument sake. And whose your left wing ? - Tfaehner
I think Laughton is more likely to be the 3C than BSchenn or Gagner. |

Here's two ideas:
12-28-93
24-14-17
Gagner/Laughton-Schenn - Jsaquella
That's fine, I'd just really like to give the Read-Coots-Schenn combo a longer look. I thought they meshed really well together.

Gagner is a valuable NHL forward; keep him.
Hopefully, VLC resolves itself with mutual termination and VDV and White get re-upped. Gives us 13 forwards going into camp with Laughton, Cousins, NAK, etc all challenging Rinaldo for a spot. - PhiFaninEdm
Gagner seems like a valuable forward. The only time I've ever watched him play was a few times with EDM in the past, and a few times this season, when I'd tune into yotes games to watch OEL. |

If they do keep Gagner, I'm not sure where you play him. I don't want to mess with the Raffl-G-Jake line and I really like the way Read-Coots-Schenn looked going down the stretch.
I guess that leaves him with either:
Umberger-Gagner-Simmonds
or
Gagner-Laughton-Simmonds - BiggE
so whos our second line center? def not coots hes a third line center along with laughton I still believe schenn is the second line center and work around tht in filling roster |

Cousins? Umberger? VandeVelde? Bellemare? A cheap free agent like Brian Gibbons? I do think Laughton sticks, though, even if it's as a 4th liner. |

Good to know, it would be interesting to see how the Flyers handle it if he doesn't accept the mutual termination.
I originally said the Flyers should give him a fresh start in training camp, now I'm not so sure. |

The waiver period starts about 12 days before the start of the season. |

I think that at some point you need Schenn or Couturier to get a real shot at being the 2nd line C, and I think it's coming this season. I think they see Schenn more as a winger, and want to give Couturier a more offensive role. |

Schenn and Coots have chemistry so I hope they stay together. |

I hope Hak is the kind of guy that will roll 4 skilled lines... if so, I think there's room for all of these skilled centers/players in the lineup. |

That's fine, and I think it can work. They were encouraging together last year, and I'm all for continuing it |

God I wish Vinny is off the squad. Ganger is young, hungry, and determined to prove he belongs in the league. Where as Vinny is old and could give 0 f@cks about playing here.
I know cap issues make these types of decisions hard, but I really don't see a reason why Ganger can't be in your bottom 6 in a nightly basis. |

Agreed. Could end up with Schenn back at C, too. He's got a lot of options |

I know that Read and Couturier play well together but I think I would like to have Laughton take more defensive role. In that instance I would like Read and Laughton together. If they keep Gagner I think he could work well with Couturier and Schenn
Raffl - Giroux - Voracek
Gagner - Couturier - Schenn
Read - Laughton - Simmonds
Umberger - Bellemare/Cousins - White/Bellemare?
That is if they don't sign someone like Frolik or make any other moves. Also since they now have provorov in the fold I wouldn't mind seeing if there can be a deal using Hagg. Something where you trade prospect for prospect.
Hagg to CBJ for Rychel
Hagg to DET for Mantha.
Something of that nature. |

I would disagree that Lecavalier doesn't care about playing here. He wants to play here, and the key word is play. What he doesn't want, is to be a part time player or 13th forward. |

I very much doubt they sign Frolik, they would have to overpay for what he is and I don't see Hextall doing that.

Supposedly a lot of team very interested in Frolik, he's going to get a premium. Might end up getting ovr $5mm...at that price, no interest |

Saw a report earlier flyers would like to move l schenn + vlc than they'd add 1 winger and 1 back up goalie while resigning zepp (2 way) vv and white. And hextall xmas list would be complete. Still leaves 8 nhl defenseman - Tfaehner
Well, that's what I would want done too, but there is a lot of distance between the lip and the cup. |
