The hits keep coming. This GM has a plan and is executing it. No one's perfect, but compared to the last 3-4 yrs of his predecessor, Hextall is running a boldly efficient operation.
Meanwhile a veritable clown show has raised it's tent in Boston.

So I've been insane in real life.
Draft picks
Grossmann traded I loved the big man. I'll miss him.
Rinaldo traded give Hextall a kiss! This almost makes up for the Umberger trade (or not).

Just imagine IF he were to get Vinny shipped out of here as well.

If this team goes on in the next few years to become a contender, they could not have done it without some of the key moves, and key players that Holmgren obtained to build a foundation for Hextall to work with.
As much as I like the Rinaldo trade for the return, I can see him, in true former flyer form, absolutely destroying us physically when we play the Bruins

Oh that's pretty much a given.
1. He'll knock somebody the (frank) out with a clean hit, more than likely an important peace to the team.

Thanks. It's nice to see a different perspective. No worries from them about Konecny's skating. - Feanor
Sam Cosentino is the one at the far right of the panel to the left of Damien Cox he does the color for sportsnet for all the junior games they broadcast. Solid guy & good opinions. His TV partner is RJ Broadhead I'd take both of them to call games over our current group.
so technically, they lost cap space from the grossman vs gagner deal - nails
No, they didn't. Technically, they gained a bunch. Some of it is only cap space gained for the off season, versus the playing season. Losing Pronger helps them greatly with off season flexibility.

not counting pronger.
just looking at grossman vs gagner as active players
not counting pronger.

Okay, looking at it that way, they kept 500K for Grossman, and took on 3.2M for Gagner. They lose 3M for Grossmann, so with just that, they took on 700K.

i don't think it's actually that bad.
grossman was 3.5
they got back a 3.2 and retained .5
so just .2M?
