I don't know.

I actually question the 3rd rounder. I know its a 2017 one but that does seem high. Hell Lack only cost a 3rd and a 6th I believe.

So what do we think, the 2018-19 season Rinaldo scores a backbreaking playoff goal against Philly en route to a Stanley Cup?

Thank you!

I wish I could link the Bruins form I read here. It's pure joy reading it. They are ready to jump into the Charles River.

I actually feel sorry for them

You know, just know, after losing Lucic and Hamilton for a backup goalie and picks, that you are in a soft rebuild and you want as many picks as possible because not every guy you have is going to pan out

Instead, you have your GM tossing away third-rounders for a replacement-level forward that you can find two days from now in FA

Holy poop, I would be killing kittens right now

We kill Homer on here and in a lot of respects its been earled but man, who isn't thrilled they moved Richards for Schenn, Simmonds and a 3rd at this point? I mean I always liked the deal but my god, how fast and far Ritchie has dropped off at the age of 30. it really blows my mind. I loved the guy when he was here even despite his smugness.

I think the trade result was good but signing players, and I do think the Flyers have signed more 7+ year contracts than any other team in the league, to 7+ year contracts was foolishness. They should just be happy that this is one of the few the Flyers didn't have to buy out. Carter may be the first one, which remains to be seen, that actually finishes one of those contracts, even though it isn't with the Flyers.

Honorable mention to Pronger, who would've just retired this offseason if he had been signed to an under 35 contract.

Can you imagine if Vinny rips up his deal and Hexy buys out RJ to keep Gagner?

Kind of goes back to the Hamilton thing... maybe you don't trade the guy over it, with leverage and all... but I would really avoid handing early-20-yo's huge money and lifetime job security... not many can handle it.

If Rinaldo is worth a 3rd, what is the worth of Luke, a RH dman and possibly Del Zotto if not resigned.

The Pronger gamble didn't fail, because it absolutely elevated the team to a top contender. Pronger getting hurt is a big reason for why it didn't work out after that, but if you want to blame Holmgren for that injury, go ahead. As far as handling the injury, I don't see how it can be said that it was handled badly. He made solid trades to try and off set that injury, as best as possible. Unless you believe a direct replacement for a player like Pronger was readily available.

How can anyone regret the Pronger trade?

I think they should re do the statue of Kate Smith where as now she will be blowing the newly erected, emphasis on erected, statue of Hextall.

A 3rd for a guy who will more or less be in Providence all year. Hextall has the midas touch.

Pretty ironic that signing a boarderline insane russian goaltender put those deals in motion.

I agree with you though, as a huge Richards as a flyer fan myself, I could not be happier the flyers are not stuck with the mess between him and the kings right now.
