Calgary is a tremendous landing spot for Hamilton.

My big takeaway is, and thank the gods it continues today, Sweeney can't get out of his own way so far in Boston.

Pretty amazing actually.
how is there not someone breaking down his door and knocking him out?
or at least cutting the power to his office.

I'm talking more about trading away Hamilton for picks then having 3 first round picks in a row and going off the board. maybe the players pan out but it seems as they maybe they could have traded back and got those players.
- nastyflyergirl

Yeah, I don't think teams were champing at the bit for those three.

I feel like it's only a matter of moments before Shaggy and Scooby rip off Don Sweeney's mask, to reveal Paul Holmgren underneath.

If you are of a certain age, this is one of the the funniest posts ever

You can still like Paul Holmgren and laugh at this one

But how much more can you do with a 3rd?
especially with what will likely be a high 3rd round pick?

We kill Homer on here and in a lot of respects its been earled but man, who isn't thrilled they moved Richards for Schenn, Simmonds and a 3rd at this point? I mean I always liked the deal but my god, how fast and far Ritchie has dropped off at the age of 30. it really blows my mind. I loved the guy when he was here even despite his smugness.

Thank you!

I wish I could link the Bruins form I read here. It's pure joy reading it. They are ready to jump into the Charles River.

Is everyone F@CKING happy now!!

No more Rinaldo talk.

P.S. I actually neverminded him that much. Just thought it was funny how much talk he got on here.

I'm just wondering how a player that doesn't belong in the NHL was traded for a 3rd round pick?

Excellent point.

Better still: How much would we all just be killing Mike Richards right about now, given his contract and drop off in play?

Hextall took advantage of a man unqualified to be an NHL GM.

Hell if Hexy was GM of the Phils he'd find a way to trade Howard for Mike Trout

I don't know.

I actually question the 3rd rounder. I know its a 2017 one but that does seem high. Hell Lack only cost a 3rd and a 6th I believe.

Kind of goes back to the Hamilton thing... maybe you don't trade the guy over it, with leverage and all... but I would really avoid handing early-20-yo's huge money and lifetime job security... not many can handle it.
