well for starters I didnt even bring Mcdavid into this one player doesnt win cups....secondly I didnt suggest we have surpassed the nucks because there was a reason we drafted #1.....also since its a what have you done for me lately league IF and thats a big IF we finished ahead of you guys for a couple of seasons there wont be many out there that would argue that we have "surpassed" them....lastly dont even bring cups into the conversation until you guys win one and im not trying to start a war but why even bring cups into this or tell us we need to win one to surpass you?

I wouldn't be against trading Edler but we don't have a top pairing player to replace him.

These top pairing guys are difficult to come by yet I think Edler's back is fecked up and wouldn't be surprised if he has more issues.

Certainly no easy fixes to our d situation unless you could trade Vrbata for a future top dman. But I guess we did just draft a couple d right?

Sure they're on their way but to talk about surpassing a team before the season has even started is ridiculous - and I know he didn't say they have. I'm personally fed up with Oilers fans - I have a number of friends who refer to them as a "real team". It's almost to the point were talking about cup wins so long ago in the non salary cap era is almost as futile as the laffs fans talking about theirs.

Anaheim and calgary have the best D in our division. LA if doughty gets some help. Then probably canucks are still ahead of the oilers.

He will have to produce like he did last year though. Otherwise JB will look like poop again. Leave us all disappointed once again.

I guess that depends on your perspective. Even if Vbada looks like poop, he can get a return. So a draft pick or prospect and a 30 goal season looks good for a two year free agent signing on good market value. When was the last time that happened? Vrbada has to produce a list upon request so I have my fingers crossed.

Needed to realize the cup chances were gone and the ageing core needs to be moved for more picks. When is the last time we traded someone for a first rounder. Not in the past 15 years I don't think.
