Like I said I am in no way a Lack fan, but we kept the older slower more expensive goalie, and it doesn't surprise me at all. That is fact .

Goalie controversy is nothing unusual in this city. Benning gave Miller a bad contract and could not move it in the end so here we are.

Just have to wait a few more years until another bad contract runs out

Millers adjusted save percentage was actually slightly better, adjusted sv% is a more accurate measurement of their ability to save the puck. It takes into account where shots come from as some are obviously more difficult to save than others.

Millers adjusted save percentage in the 0 to 10 foot range was actually quite high where Lacks was down in the .800's. That's where most of the goals are scored.

Do you honestly see Miller as a 5 million dollar upgrade on Lack? That is my main issue . There was not that much of a difference for that much cap space..

Edit. I do not view either one of them as a bad goalie . I think they are both just decent goalies. Lack salary justifies his performance . I didn't think Millers justified his. I do find them both capable

I didn't think lack would fetch an early third and as much as I think moving him for that return was a mistake, good on Benning for getting more than I expected.

Carolina will move ward with salary retained whenever the goalie market picks up is my expectation.

Boeser at 23 is okay but I feel it is a very safe pick, likr virtanen last year, both will likely be NHLers but I have doubts about top line potential.

Brisbois, I know nothing about so it is hard for me to judge but there was some players with some high end skill still available which would of been nice.

I really like the Jasek pick and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best player taken for the nucks this year.

Overall a successful draft mostly because Benning wasn't able to acquire Lucic, not looking forward to having to play against him more often but even that is better than having him sully the team I cheer for.

Wpg, Calgary, edm, all did very well and the islanders picked up two of my favorite players in barzal and beauvillier, so jealous.

I don't care about the money, that's the difference between us. He was paid market value for a goaltender of his pedigree when the team didn't have a reliable starter. Keep in mind Lack and the team just came off one of the worst 40 game stretches in team history two years ago, that's why they signed Miller.

I wish Miller's contract was a year shorter, but whatever, with Lack gone I'm perfectly fine having him here two more years to mentor Markstrom. Having money tied up in Miller means Benning can't go out and spend it on free agency, which would prolong the slide to the bottom, so that makes me happy.

If he was market value then it should have been a no brainer who got moved. The fact is there was zero market to trade Miller. The only team crazy enough to pay him that contract , he will be playing for next year. I imagine Benning asked Wilson in SJ if he was interested in Miller and got laughed at.

Miller was never a possibility to move.it is moot. We have our tandem .

I truthfully didn't like his humour. I think he put himself out there with the image of a goof, but he still was better than the old guy. He did beat Luongo and Miller out of their starting jobs two years in a row

Time will tell if lack was worth keeping over markstrom, time will tell if Miller is worth his contract but it isn't such an absurd idea that Lack was the best goalie this season for the nucks.

I agree with Booner. The only reason miller is on this team is because Benning needed to appease an owners demand that the canucks make the playoffs regardless of the effect it has on the rebuild process.

If goalie controversy is strictly fans, why does the Media talk about it on the radio 100 days a year and the press write about it? Why is it brought up every third week on Hockey Night in Canada. Why was Luongo sitting on the bench during Herritage Classic looking like he was going to cry?


And the biggest question if it is only fan created, why have we moved 3 goalies in 3 years including the one with the most wins ever?
