I know you think it is a troll post but it is not beyond the point of belief. In three more years if Canucks still do not have a 1C and they are producing 50 + pts.? This is Vancouver, we get attatched to things easily here

ie. Lack our back up goalie.

I wasn't attatched to him , but we did trade our best goalie

It doesn't surprise me at all he got traded. He was younger cheaper better so trade him for a third rounder. This city likes old players so I am not surprised at all .

And whenMiller regard attest that injury next year and Canata and Markstrom are our starters it will be exciting to watch

I truthfully didn't like his humour. I think he put himself out there with the image of a goof, but he still was better than the old guy. He did beat Luongo and Miller out of their starting jobs two years in a row

Chech the stats and salaries and birth certificates.

I don't care really. I knew he was an average goalie but he still was the teams best. You will see that later this year.

And three years, they are gone and who are we left with?
- manvanfan

The kids that they're drafting and developing now. Once they draft a core of younger players then surround them with free agents and make some trades. For now just ride with some of the older guys we've got, slowly purge them out while inserting youth.

Miller 911 SV% 253 GAA 34 years old 6 mil salary
Lack 921 SV % 245 GAA 27 years old 1.15 salary

Sorry I don't just make these things up

It was simply a function of something had to give, nothing more nothing less.

Millers adjusted save percentage was actually slightly better, adjusted sv% is a more accurate measurement of their ability to save the puck. It takes into account where shots come from as some are obviously more difficult to save than others.

Millers adjusted save percentage in the 0 to 10 foot range was actually quite high where Lacks was down in the .800's. That's where most of the goals are scored.

Like I said I am in no way a Lack fan, but we kept the older slower more expensive goalie, and it doesn't surprise me at all. That is fact .

Goalie controversy is nothing unusual in this city. Benning gave Miller a bad contract and could not move it in the end so here we are.

Just have to wait a few more years until another bad contract runs out

Do you honestly see Miller as a 5 million dollar upgrade on Lack? That is my main issue . There was not that much of a difference for that much cap space..

Edit. I do not view either one of them as a bad goalie . I think they are both just decent goalies. Lack salary justifies his performance . I didn't think Millers justified his. I do find them both capable

I think management sees something in Markstrom or a different scenario would have played out.

I really don't care who we have in goal, I understand it's an important position, however I'm more concerned about the defence. Once Miller is off the books we can always trade a 3rd & 7th if what we have right now is not suitable.

Correct we have other fish to fry so to speak. Goaltending is the least of our worries for the next couple years.

He better be right about his hunch. Twitter was flaming him yesterday. I know someone will come on here and say he doesn't care about Twitter but they are paying customers . I see a lot of them posting selfies at the game. You know the media will rip him on the first blowout.they had to sell tickets half price last year to fill the arena . Let's see how things work out this year

The thing that makes me mad about the draft is not trading up to the 16th spot and getting Barzal, local kid, and could of been a good center for us.

Our fans are so fickle. If any team should be after their team its the oilers. Scrivens and Talbot. 2 back ups. Talbot for all hose picks for a back up goalie is ridiculous. Totally overshadowed by Mcjesus.

I don't understand this comment in bold. You know it's not the fans that traded Lack, it was management. The city wasnt demanding JB to trade Lack. You come up with some strange logic.

I don't care about the money, that's the difference between us. He was paid market value for a goaltender of his pedigree when the team didn't have a reliable starter. Keep in mind Lack and the team just came off one of the worst 40 game stretches in team history two years ago, that's why they signed Miller.

I wish Miller's contract was a year shorter, but whatever, with Lack gone I'm perfectly fine having him here two more years to mentor Markstrom. Having money tied up in Miller means Benning can't go out and spend it on free agency, which would prolong the slide to the bottom, so that makes me happy.

He didnt beat out Miller for his job. Stop fanricating poop Vantel.

Miller was injured. Lack didnt beat him out of anything. They didnt want to start Miller in the playoffs coming off of injury... you are spinning everything.
