that they dealt Hamilton surprised me only in that they must have know of the Lucic deal or at least the possibility of it - with Lucic's contract gone they weren't really hosed on the CAP... and Hamilton wouldn't have gotten more than 6/year I would think.

Yeah, it would take more than a middling prospect like Pouliot, a late 1st rounder, and two 35+ year old salary dumps to acquire Kessel.

I know salary dumps will be included when we trade him, to make room for his cap hit, but I can't help but think there are many other teams who could offer more quality.

Take your Flyers for example, if we take back Vinny for starters, you have some interesting pieces that could get a deal done. With your depth at centre, Brayden Schenn wouldn't be missed, Del Zotto would be an interesting reclamation project for Babcock, Morin is a giant, mobile, young, developing defenseman, Konecny, who you just drafted is enticing. I don't mean all of them of course, but there is certainly enough to interest the Leafs without harming Philly's futures irreparably.
