I guess it would be better for all our young players to play terrible? Larsson would be in sweden if we decided to pull what the leafs did.

Which is why people preach a "winning culture". We're almost getting the spoils of both worlds, here.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm more mad that a team with good assets like then would do that when we are down near there with little hope of climbing and little assets. That's the one thing that sets us apart from most teams. We have the 6 pick which isn't good enough to get the top tier or enough to get a wicked package to move down and most the teams rebuilding and with picks lower or around us have already a huge head start on stock piling talent they have 2-3 grade B+A prospects plus there top five pick.

Bruins sort of won the LA deal. He only has one year left on his contract and he's declining.

Martin Jones could be a piece they flip to someone else.

You should be thankful that a franchise like the leafs exist. There's a reason they haven't won a playoff series since Scott Stevens was still playing.

They robbed LA. They did better for Looch than they did for Dougie, and Dougie should've gotten alot more back.

Three consecutive firsts... never seen that before.

I think they have their eye on two guys: Hanifin and Crouse. We'll see.

Trading for Jones seems really fishy to me. If you trade for a goalie that everybody is looking at when you already have Rask, I think that means Rask is part of a huge deal that is going through. Jones/Subban is good for a rebuilding team. Bruins need forward prospects so trading Rask for a young first line player is starting to make sense with how they have been selling.

There's nothing wrong with us dipping in for a number 1-3 pick after the way we have run our org and the winning we have done. Most of us act likes it a crime for others to want that. I'm not condoning what Toronto did they should of be aiming for the playoffs with that roster but with the shape our roster is in now it's not the worst thing for us to want multiple first round picks or a top 1-3 pick we deserve to see that quality of player in jersey . My Toronto point was more so that it pisses me off that they are picking fourth when in my mind they should be picking a lot closer to 16. That's a piss off to me being a fan of a team so poorly stocked to see a team that is gifted with exciting players getting to dip in and grab another potential game changer now it hasn't won them much yet but I don't think a lot of their moves where foolish either minus the new blow up.

This guys a thinker. Chiarelli likely wants rask but I can't see the 16 th being enough as rask should have more value then both Hamilton and Lucic.

Didn't think you'd be typing that out this morning did you? This offseason will rank as one of the craziest we've seen in quite some time. Tons of movement left.

Hamilton has as much value as Rask. He's a 22 year old 6'5" defenseman with a right handed shot and a 40 point season under his belt.

Calgary pulled off a heist. Those types of players are rarely available in a trade.

Yeah, it seems odd to me. Rask for McDavid is the most shallow idea here but I don't see that happening. Hall has been part of rumor talk for a while so something involving Rask/Hall could be closer.

Boston's moves are just really confusing. I expected Lucic to be traded but with the intent of making room for Hamilton.

If hall became available we can not miss out how many young players like that are going to get traded out of the west ? We've seen them come out of the east so we have never been an option but we can't keep letting seguins and Hamiltons or those types of players being moved and missing on them. I would mind Schwartz if St. Louis started getting crazy not sure if our first next year and something would do it or if that would be something we would find to be worth that much. He did have almost thirty goals and sixty points in his third season could hit 70 next year ?

Tough to say. There are a lot of picks and prospects sitting on both sides of this. Apparently Chirarelli was in the mix for Hamilton too, obviously. EDM needs goaltending and defense so it would still make sense to trade a goalie there and Bruins get help at forward.

If Edmonton can get Tuukka, they go from a joke to easily a wildcard contender.

How did Chia not offer more then? Hamilton is exactly what Edmonton needs.

Not sure it's Rask. It could be Subban/Jones being part of a deal for 3rd overall.

Yeah, not sure. Since they apparently hate Yakupov I could see them offering him up for Hamilton but everybody knows the Bruins are dumb and love their grit players.

He is pretty decent in the roster version I have on my NHL 15 but can't say I know much about his real life potential or skills. As long as in those round we are grabbing the most talented players on the board ( unlike last year ) then I can't see myself being to upset.
