Then we stockpile assets and make a trade for a seguin, kovy, etc. Every now and then they become available but tanking is a dangerous game. Are we going to tell Larsson and Severson to stop playing well? - rmdevil313
hopefully. no, we're not going to tell them that. but making the team somewhat better by adding guys like MSL has more potential to result in a later pick than not. So it's really like getting a 10th overall + 2nd rounder (return for MSL), instead of another 6th overall.
ifs and buts. who knows. who really cares lol, it's just sports!!! |

don't really think msl will get a big haul if we had him and move him at deadline. he was invisible in the playoffs. he won't give a playoff bound team the push they're looking for.
rather pass on him all together. |

People do nutty poop at the dealine. We just got a 2nd and a 3rd next year for a 43 year old, and a little over a year ago the Rags handed over two firsts and their captain for MSL. |

Jagr is a capable top 6 forward, MSL is hardly capable. That dude is one solid body check away from retiring. |

Don't you remember Jagrs playoffs with Boston three years ago when everyone said he was done? |

Do you remember his past couple seasons? And he had 10 assists in those playoffs, so it's not like he wasn't doing anything. You can't compare an all-time great to MSL. |

Not comparing careers, but MSL had 52 points last season and has 22 points over the past two playoff seasons. Jagr obviously had the better career but to say MSL wouldn't return anything at the trade deadline is incorrect. look at the moves this year and scratch your head. Picks were given up for Sekera, Perron, Jagr, Zid, etc. |

Not saying we wouldn't getting anything back for MSL, if he shows he still has gas left in the take and is near a .65 P/G, i can see him fetching the same return Jagr did. |

Dougie Hamilton to CGY for #15, #45, and #52 in the draft. What a (frank)ing steal. |

Man, I'm still laughing at the Boston trade.
This is just as weird as the Flyers moves when they traded off Richards and Carter about 40 mins from each others.
The Flames are gonna be good! |

I don't want him, but it does make sense that MSL lands here. We are under the cap floor and have one RW signed for next season. He lives nearby, etc. If we signed him then ditched him at the deadline I wouldn't mind a 2nd and 3rd in return. |

The next 3 years of Chara at a 7 million dollar hit is really going to screw them. |

Bennett, Monahan, Gaudreau, Hamilton, Brodie, Gio, Hudler. Crazy talent on that team. They rebuilded in the blink of an eye. |

It wasn't an over 35 contract, so if he retires within the next two years, which is a possibility since he's slowed down so much. They should be okay. Boston really fell from the upper echelon of the NHL. Still a good team, but losing Seguin and Hamilton in just 2 years time. Thats crazy, they have almost nothing to show from that Kessel trade. |

Why trade Hamilton to draft hannafin that is like the stupidest thing I have heard of. Proven NHL talent for what ifs lol |

His last two seasons pay him a combined 9 mil. would you walk away from that kind of cash just to be a good guy? I don't think Chara will either. |

Saves cap right now, i wouldn't be shocked to see Boston make a run at Arizona's pick. Arizona is sitting pretty with all these offers coming in. |

Don't forget they have domi, Perlini, duclaire, gormaley and others plus whatever they come away with after this draft. We have quenneville, matteau, blandisi. We have a lot of work to do before our rebuild is over if that's the type of talent you need to acquire then we have at least 2-3 drafts worth of work to do. |

Slow day and I was looking through our previous drafts and what a poop show 2005 was for us.
TJ Oshie taken one pick after Begfors, Stastny taken 5 picks after Frazee, Ben Bishop one pick after Mark Fraser, Keith Yandle six picks after Patrick Davis. Our only NHL regular from that draft was Mark Fayne in the 5th, the last player picked in the draft was Patric Hornqvist. |

Also to me dougie is your most important piece next to raask. I would trade almost any other player on the Bruins before I dealt Hamilton. |

It's time for a change and I'm hopping once this draft is over we clean house on our scouting staff and bring in a new core of eyes. |

Easily, apparently it was Dougie or Lucic. Lucic is replaceable, his name is Lawson Crouse, Hamilton on the other hand, Provorov or Hanifin, but those are studs. Boston is poopting the bed. |

Wonder what that does for the market on young d man and when will the Hawks blink and be forced to move cap ? |

I think they wait until they see what they can get their RFAs signed for. They can go 10% above cap during the offseason then trade off parts during the summer. |
