God I hate where this team is now. No man's land.

Hopefully your owner and fan base can stomach a season or two to get out of that no man's land area.

Help me understand why so many want lack gone? Is it because lack can fetch the best return? And that return is a 2nd round pick?
- bloatedmosquito

My guess is they want Markstrom to get much needed NHL experience, Miller is not getting moved, so that leave Lack as the odd man out.

I am not one of those fans . I would rather have the younger cheaper guy stay. I would rather eat 2 mil and move Miller

But what team would want a 36 year old Ryan Miller?

I would rather draft a goalie or two and sign a UFA goalie

Why couldn't you fukers have offered miller a spot in the front office like normal franchises do?

Instead we have him now.

the canucks.

and they want him until he's 38. or maybe trade him for a 2nd round pick before that. while lack has three more years to develop as a legitimate starter.

Then they would lose Markstom if they wanted to send him to the AHL he would have to go through waivers

Looks like expansion is coming. Who's going to be the lucky winner to lose millions?

yes, tough spot to be. Hopefully JB can pull the trigger on the Sedins and a few others (Bieksa) before there value plummets. Unfortunately in today's salary cap era, the only way to get to the top is to bottom out for a few years like the Sabres have done.

Also I am good on 31 for Lack. I liked his play better than Miller's last year.

Doesn't the NMC prevent them from doing it?

Not according to the "market" and press. JB's GM skills will be revealed this weekend.

I think it is because Lack is the best return. I would prefer they move Miller and eat salary, as suggested. It has to be about the pick. With all the talk about rebuild/retool, I think we are already in year 2 of the process of replenishing the cupboards. I think JB really wants as many picks as he can get but is still in it for the playoffs.

With JB's history with Boston, I think they were reluctant to turn the reins over to Rask when he was ready, might be similar to what is happening here. Anyway, with Miller, even though he has 2 years left, maybe he would sign for another if Markstrom wasn't ready?

I want to keep Lack, I think he has more upside, him and Miller are close now, and is more durable. But either way, we have bigger issues than who will be in net.
