And all Buffalo talks about is Tank. - VanHockeyGuy
Thanks for the history lesson of the past 2 years. But we do have the #1 prospect in all of hockey and the #1 rated prospect system as a whole in all of hockey....
we are coming out of our dark place.... you guys are just going into it. Have a nice flight.

You've misread what he said, go back and check out the bolded part... - 1970vintage
If I misread it the first time, I am still misreading it...
Chompsey said his single source said Lack is going to SJ or possibly Edmonton... I said it was too bad teams from other divisions weren't as interested in Lack as Talbot or Lehner... Eastern and Western bias'...
The other thing I posted was who is doing the talking? " He is talking to both teams..." and I am guessing it is JB, but was wondering if Chompsey, having his source, could be indicating it was Lack's group discussing his future since he has a year left before being UFA.

#31 or #33 is what it's gonna take, whoever offers it first will probably get him. - Nucker101
It sounds like NYR is trying to get a 1st from BUF or EDM and both are balking at it big team so they are waiting to deal... so now there is a little blood in the water for Lack.. be curious to see what happens before the draft.
If it was me and I was Buffalo... I'd hold onto thta #31 pick until the late 1st round or Saturday morning. Some team that sees a guy that they have high on their board who slides into the 2nd round.. is going to over pay for that pick. if not, then the Lack deal can still happen then.
Windows get stuck open and closed all the time. With the right moves, some luck and chemistry, you never know the impact of some of these trades.
If we could get a top4 dman that helped our offence, we would be a different team.
Hope the Sabres are more competitive in the near future, than you think, that losing culture isn't so great for the prospects. - hillbillydeluxe
It is on the rebound for sure, feels way better around here than it did just a few years ago. I have been a fan of Buffalo sports a long time so I'm not jumping onto the 2015-2016 playoff band wagon yet but it is nice to have a little excitment again.
Here's to hoping that window indeed stays stuck open for you guys, one of these teams need to rep 1970!!
Cheers.

Benning is very different from Gillis in many ways, one of those seems to be that he prefers to get a deal done when he gets one he likes instead of holding out in hopes of getting even more like Gillis apparently did. So if Edmonton offers the #33 pick before the draft, I'd be pretty shocked if Benning didn't accept it instead of waiting to see if Buffalo will offer #31 later on.

True... Benning came from Buffalo.
I was just stating what I would do... nothing about what GMTM has hinted.
If lack goes and miller is traded/walks in two to three years what are we left with? Markstrom and Demko? What will Markstrom be earning in two to three years?
Are we right back to a lack/markstrom kind of situation? - bloatedmosquito
We keep hearing about rich GT markets. I doubt JB fails to find a hole plugger in most any situation that will transpire. There just may be another GT prospect in the system in just a couple of days as well continuing our recent tradition of always being strong in that department.

I have a feeling that come fans still don't realize how good Eichel really is since he wasn't playing in the CHL. Everyone knows he's a top prospect, but he's a legit franchise player(Stamkos/Tavares) type of guy if he reaches his potential.
You think goalie talk is going to end with the departure of lack? It's just getting started my friend... The next three years are going to be interesting. - bloatedmosquito
With Lack gone what's there really to talk about? I'd like the team step back as they're not contenders, get younger and faster. I expect some growing pains.
At the same time I'd like them to develop Markstrom under Miller, let him gain confidence at the NHL level, he's tremendously talented and he's only 25.
I was sitting behind Cloutier up a few levels for that goal. I swear when that happened, the only thing in the building you could hear was my buddy with his wings sweater on laughing his ass off.

We are for sure. That's why we need a proper return for Lack. I hope Talbot goes for a first and is off the market. Futhermore we won our last game of the season which cost us several draft spots in the first round because management didn't want to throw a mean nothing game.

He has an amazing no look pass and his reach is really good.

It turned out to mean nothing, but it was for home ice advantage in round 1
