Vantel touched on this-- It's the fans fault they make the player more important than the team.

Bieksa was never a top pairing dman. He had a couple of years he overachieved and we anointed him as the leader. When in reality he is a 3rd pairing defender.

I think that is part of this teams problem. When many of our players move on it seems they are put in better roles where they actually belong and they tend to excel.

Picture Bieksa on Chicago's 3rd pairing this year. Lower minutes... Lower expectations. More snarl. He would have likely excelled instead of getting shelled.

This should be about team first. The logo on the front is more important than the name in back.

When you look at the Canucks legacy... It sure explains alot.

I'm almost certain that the Canucks will do better without him, so I'm not sold yet that they are trying to tank.

What he brings can be replaced with a cheaper cap hit.

I think he will have a bit of a bounce back season whether he gets moved or not.

But he does need a change in scenery, and don't think he should be extended/brought back beyond this contract.
