Phil to the Wild would be interesting and have 3 USA star players on one team. That's pretty cool. Plus support from Pominville who is also a scoring sniper like Phil. Could be a stacked top 6 - arichardson22
Is the NHL going to allow the Wild to have a cap-ceiling of $100M? |

I've heard the same rumor involving Dumba, 1st rd pick, and Vanek. But the reason Minnesota is the front runner is because Kessel played college hockey for the Minnestoa Golden Gophers, He's familiar with the area and he's from Wisconsin which is just a stone throw away. To me personally I think Minnesota would make the most sense for Phil and his family - ThomasBreen91
First off Vanek left Buffalo bc he wanted no part of a rebuild and Pegula offered him a big contract to stay. He has a NMC and if he didn't stay in NY or Montreal he isn't going to go to Toronto to be part of a rebuild. It was common knowledge here in Buffalo he and his wife wanted to go back home where she is from and he played his college hockey. Insert another player for Vanek bc he isn't okaying a trade to Toronto. |

Is separate blogs I have read that the Leafs are targeting Tlusty, Sharp and now Winnik. It has also been reported that they may look at signing Franson. Not exactly the moves a team wanting a slow and steady rebuild makes.
Kudos to Toronto and Shanahan for convincing Babcock to take the Leafs coaching job. As a Sabres fans, I would have loved to see him coach the Sabres.
But I don't think it is going to work out for the Leafs if they allow Babcock to talk them into winning now, which is what you are trying to do if you trade for or sign players like Sharp, Tlusty, Franson and Winnik. Remember the folly of Brian Burke believing he could instantly turn the Leafs into contenders with Komisarek and Beauchemin.

I could see Winnik for a 1 or 2 yr contract...actually any of those guys for the right price...something they could flip at the deadline for assets. |

O.E.L. for drouin straight up
bolts had a down year and took drouin the best player available. we really didnt NEED him. we need a big strong winger that can pass the puck to stamkos. drouin is too small. i think in 3 to 5 years he will be a stud but not yet. and our window to win the cup a bunch is in the next 3 to 5 years. - boltsfan48
Yeah thank god you guys didn't take Seth Jones |

I think the idea behind this is similar to what we did with winnik, santorelli etc and flip them at the deadline for additional picks, that is the only way this makes sense to me.

I love how Eklund doesn't mention Columbus being one of the 4 teams talking to Arizona.
Guy just picked 4 teams at random.
Bob Mac, Friedman both say columbus is one of the teams talking to Arizona. |

Luckily, (insert random blogger's name here) has no actual idea what the Leafs are planning. |
