If any of our D prospects aren't better then Bartowski by 2016, the franchise should fold. - manvanfan
Subban is probably our top D prospect which is sad |

Yup I say he will be better than them. Corrado is a different player but his game is fairly similar to clendening. I think subban has top 4 potential where is clendening to me is more of 5/6 guy who can run a PP. |

IF the rumors of him almost signing in montreal are true maybe they would give up 26 for him. |

he's just too small to be a top 4 in the league. Ryan Ellis can't make a top 4 I doubt Subban ever will. |

Looking for a scorer so very possible. I just hope they capitalize on the season he had. |

3 on 3 OT - A_SteamingLombardi
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie ·
For those asking, no 4-on-4 OT at all. Right to 3-on-3. 5 minutes sudden death. No goal, it goes to shootout.
(this is still pending BoG approval) |

I wonder how teams will play, with 2 D or 2 forwards and 1 D |

Yes. Shootout specialists on team or going for the goal in ot.
I'm a bit leery of 3 on 3, but maybe it will lead to larger ice surface discussion. |

I don't think we're looking to trade draft picks for rentals, not the plan here. |

Maloney also said he has an offer to swap the No. 3 overall pick for a pick several slots down but still in Top 10.

ARI GM Don Maloney says he has two firm offers to trade outright the No. 3 overall pick in draft that give him "pause to consider."

I think (and would hope) that we can do much better than that. The guy did score 30 goals, after all. And if Pittsburgh is looking for a quality return on Sutter you'd think that Vrbata should also provide for the same sort of returns. - Zogg
Almost a straight swap. throw in Jensen.

You spend lots of time in the oilers thread asking how it feels to not be in the playoffs for a decade? |

Vey has been a scorer at every level that he's been at. Averaged over a point/game in the WHL over 4 seasons, and has a 0.82 PPG in the AHL. I think he's better suited to the wing in the NHL, but he definitely has the offensive instincts to be an impact player. If he has a good summer training, I think we'll see a solid progression from his 24 points last season.
I agree that he needs to get better in his own end though. Hopefully that improves as well. - nucks_94
I would think management agrees with you. Vey was given every single opportunity to succeed last season, including far more PP time than was logical to any outsider's view. The staff clearly see something in him.
Between Markstrom and Vey we have 2 guys on the roster that have dominated every league they've played in apart from the NHL. |

Maybe I'm biased but the #26 pick for Vrbata on a contending team that lacks exactly what he brings would be a fair offer. |

Vey is a Benning/WD acquisition, can't afford to look bad so soon. Thankfully the Sbisa signing took the heat off that. |

If he came out and said our D core suck he'd most likely not get a single reasonable offer for any D he inquired about. |
