Would love to see Vrbata traded for a late first and then use that money to sign Matt Beleskey. Hits like a tank, good speed and can score. |

I'd rather trade players for picks and lets the young guys step in instead.
I really really hope JV makes the Roster next year. |

60 points for 5 mil is good. 5 mil for 30 points isn't. |

Please explain.
Or will you say something like "he's a good goalie not a great goalie". - bloatedmosquito
I'm not saying he's a bad goalie. He's an average starter. That's it. Far from great and I don't see his upside as being much better than an average. |

No reason they both can't be on the team. I'd trade away Higgins and Burrows even for later picks just to move them. Hell, even retain a bit of Burrows deal if need be. Vey also should have to earn his spot, if not then he can say hello to the press box or waivers.
Time for more speed and physicality. |

If two 2nd round picks isn't enough for Talbot, then Lack is easily worth a 2nd(and not a late one).
He's our best goalie right now so it'll be tough to see him let go but hopefully Markstrom can translate his dominant AHL season over to the NHL next year. - Alpha_Nuck
Agreed. I would also be very interested in a good prospect instead of a pick. |

Vrbata disappeared in the playoffs. His production also was inflated by playing with the Twins. Beleskey was important for the Ducks during the season and in the playoffs, he was good on the forecheck, made big hits and scored big goals. |

There's almost zero chance he's only worth a third if Talbot is apparently worth more than two second rounder. That would mean Talbot is more than twice as valuable as Lack. - Alpha_Nuck
Is Talbot worth two second rounders if nobody will give them that? |

Why would they hire a guy known for a methodical, stat based approach as AGM and give him the responsibility for trades if they didn't value his skills? - belcherbd
Considering analytics does not mean you are taking a stats based approach. It just means you're expanding how you assess players. |

If he eventually garners 2 second rounders, he was worth that... depends where in the second round too.
How many teams have 2 second rounders in the coming draft? |

Belesky production was inflated playing with Kesler? Your describing Bryan bickell who at 4 mill is a buyout canadiate for Chicago. Derek Dorsett put up 5 less points got just over half of 5 mill, while playing 2 less minutes per game. Anything North of 4 for belesky is over paying, which he declined from anahiem. |

Someone will give him Clarkson money. 4 mil is an insult these days.
I am hoping Sbisa has a good season next year so some GM will love his contract and offer us 4 firsts |
