I see him as one of the best D on the team, sad. - VanHockeyGuy
Maybe next season someone tosses out a yandle type of trade at the deadline. Hard to refuse that. |

The #Canucks have done the expected and qualified the contract of goalie Jacob Markstrom.
Wondering since it has been announced that Eriksson has signed with a KHL club, if the Canucks would make the minimum q/o to Eriksson just to retain his rights even though they had no intention of signing him. - hillbillydeluxe
It will be interesting if Markstom signs....there was speculation that he would hold out, play a year in Europe and return as a UFA the following season.
Sounds like pure speculated garbage to me but would be pretty hilarious/sad if both Lack and Markstrom go. |

The price for Van included Horvat and the 23 at the very least.....can't see #3 coming our way.
Would you do Virtanen and the 23 for #3 and # 32 ? - belcherbd
Yes, happily. Nothing against Virtanen, but I would do that in a second. |

he's just too small to be a top 4 in the league. Ryan Ellis can't make a top 4 I doubt Subban ever will. - manvanfan
Krug, Vatanen, Barrie. Small D men with great skating, offence, smarts and defensive positioning work in this NHL with the limitations on obstruction. |

If the Canucks offered up Tanev, they'd definitely get back a good prospect or a first. Any smart GM would trade away a first in the 20-30 range or prospect of equal value for Tanev. |

Heard Rintoul on 1040 bring it up....like I said pure speculation, but I was unaware that he would be become an UFA if he did ply his trade elsewhere for a year. |

Maybe I'm biased but the #26 pick for Vrbata on a contending team that lacks exactly what he brings would be a fair offer. - AlexF
Not enough. |

Should we be alarmed? PS someone is lying Taj or JB? - VanHockeyGuy
No use being alarmed, although I keep smashing the glass and pulling the swtich, I hope it isn't JB that is lying. Have to be constantly in communication- at least had some preliminary conversations regarding extending Lack and salary range expectations. Especially if you are shopping Lack, one of the questions, how much is it going to take to resign him?
Really, I don't know what to believe. I posted earlier, if there hasn't been any sort of preliminary conversation with Bieksa or anyone else with an ntc regarding possible trade destinations, there will be a similar conversation as was between Lu and MG, How about the Leafs? How about the Panthers? errr, I'll get back to you. |

Confused by this too. Isn't that what is happening with the Russian Dman possibly making a return to the Jets? Left as an rfa and owes them a contract? |

Talbot isn't worth a 1st. He played on the presidents trophy winning team. Stats inflated. At least in Lack you know you're getting a great goalie because Van has no defence. - manvanfan
Lack is not a great goalie and is not worth a 1st either. |

Benning has already said he hasn't talked to any players regarding NTC yet....obviously that can still change and it might be possible that Benning is lying but as much as I have reservations about Benning I highly doubt he isn't honest. |

Not that again! If Benning allowed that to happen he's no better than Gillis. |

The picks are determined by what the cap amount is per season based off a 5 year deal.
Less than $1,205,377 Nothing
$1,205,377-to-$1,826,328 Third-round pick
$1,826,328-to-$3,652,659 Second-round pick
$3,652,659-to-$5,478,986 First and third-round picks
$5,478,986-to-$7,305,316 First, second and third-round picks
$7,305,316-to-$9,131,645 Two firsts, a second and third-round picks
$9,131,645 or greater Four first-round picks
regardless of how many offersheets a player is signed, he still needs to sign it and can choose to not sign or choose to sign the offer he desires. - belcherbd
Thanks for providing the numbers and information. Good grief, four first round picks I wonder if they'll ever be a situation where a team offersheets that kind of $$. It would probably signify the on-coming apocalypse lol |

I think the rule is 7 years of nhl experience, 27 or a certain amount of RFA deals. |

If you are a GM and you're not lying (at least to some extent), you're not doing your job very well |

Please explain.
Or will you say something like "he's a good goalie not a great goalie". |
