Dreger: Vancouver "wants to be an active team" in trade market

I think we'll end up keeping Lack and trading Marky.

It was interesting to watch, but the greens were crap.

Sure everyone has to play the same holes, but that was embarrassing as a representation of golf in the Pacific Northwest. The greens definitely looked like a municipal course.

On the other hand, municipal courses generally don't charge $275/round.

While I agree the conditions certainly could have been better. I think it added a bit of a nice little extra element to the game.

I prefer to have 5 guys in contention in the last round than having 1 dude running away with it after 2.

They had greens?
- VANTEL

Its funny. Last night my family was discussing where the fairway ends and the greens start

Their was no distinctive line on television thats for sure. Maybe being there live would have made more of a difference.

That'd be alright as long as lack plays 25 games maybe 30, then we trade miller next off-season and Re-sign lack to be the starter for 3-4 years until Demko is ready to take over at 22 or 23.

Are you kidding me? Is there a NMC clause that I don't know about where every team needs to have a certain number of them on the books?

It is but it's also a top-heavy draft. I could see SJ (#39) or COL (#40) having interest. Or maybe OTT (#48). Bieksa would have to waive first of course.
- AlexF

I was thinking Avs, CBJ and maybe Dallas.

CBJ need a Dmen or 2 and will be a top team in the east next year and have 3 second rounders. Avs need Dmen peroid. Dallas has a fairly young D core.

From TSN According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, Kessel’s list includes Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Minnesota, Montreal, the New York Rangers, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

New Bruins’ GM Don Sweeney surely isn’t going down the Kessel road, even if he could afford it. The other seven clubs all have significant salary cap constraints - with Kessel being a pipedream to add for the Blackhawks, Kings, Canadiens, Wild and Rangers.

Of course, Kessel’s list could also change with a phone call. One team believed to be kicking the tires on Kessel are the Calgary Flames, whose president, Brian Burke, traded for Kessel in Toronto.

The NHL’s trade market could break open well before Toronto decides what to do with Kessel or Phaneuf. Edmonton, Buffalo and San Jose are hot for Rangers’ backup goaltender Cam Talbot. A Talbot trade could set off a domino effect on a teeming goalie market.

The Senators are shopping one of Robin Lehner or Craig Anderson and Dallas starter Kari Lehtonen is available. Calgary is willing to move Jonas Hiller. One of Eddie Lack or Jacob Markstrom is likely leaving Vancouver. Plus, the Ducks (John Gibson) and the Kings (Martin Jones) are toying with the idea of moving their backups.
