Get 'er done.

It would give you a payroll of 58 mil ,so you could bury Sbisa in the Comets to develop . If he did get picked up which I doubt , oh well our loss

Of course Benning has to. Friedman was wrong with his assumption.

From 30 thoughts,

"10. A perfect example of that would be Vancouver. The Canucks are surrounded by teams that are a fit for Eddie Lack, in particular. He’d be useful for Calgary, Edmonton or San Jose but would Jim Benning want to help any of them? I doubt it. I’ve referenced it before, but hours prior to Cory Schneider’s trade to New Jersey, the Canucks and Oilers talked about it, with Vancouver wanting a first-rounder, a second-rounder and Martin Marincin. A team in their division was going to pay a higher price than the Devils. Different regime now, but can’t imagine the philosophy easing at all."

Benning last year made deals with
a) LA
b) EDM
c) CAL

Limiting your options is short sighted, and bad business, IMO.

Of course, look at EDM. Lack, Hamhuis for ? Makes sense. San Jose, Calgary, why not?

I love Friedman but I too raised an eyebrow at this one and thanks for backing it up....

Sure it does. I would give up the 16th and Marincin for those 2 in a heartbeat. Don't really care if Marincin develops into a stud or you draft the next Corey Perry with the 16th.

Draisaitl would be awesome, Ciarelli & Benning are buds, you never know. The price would be high but EDM has the depth to trade him.

I haven't been on this thing very often as of late. When did Nucker go full flame?

For Marincin and the 16 th . I would do any one of Edler Hamhuis or Tanev and Lack . They can have Bieksa for a second

Since he did nothing but b!tch and whine about everything Benning & sh!t all over everyone's ideas and comments for the past couple months. I think even he recognized he was negative 100% of the time and decided to be a turncoat.

Minnie Gillis….he's always the smartest man in the room.

I honestly think if he's made available, there will be some teams that will offer a 1st+

Edit: I may have accidentally flagged you...why? Because of the stupid (frank)ing location of the thing

Even better. To me the cap space is the most important thing and the roster space

Marincin and the 16th won't be helping is much anytime soon. Oilers need to make short term gains, quickly, but resist anything stupid and knee jerk.

We need the injection of youth , you guys don't. You are preparing to make a run at being a good team, we are on the verge of a rebuild

I like Marincin, he has solid top 4 potential....but I won't over sell him. He's not overly big for a tall mutant and doesn't have a lot of upper body strength. He's a bit soft. But he does have skills and can skate and room to fill out still.

Best case scenario is a slower developer ( Halls draft year, 2010) and just needs the right partner/mentor. Worst case is he's a bottom pair defender on a good defence.
