I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut. We were at Granville Island at the Keg for lunch an I took some picks of the GF. When we got back home I said you look pretty hot in some of the picks . That was so well done but then I had to open my mouth once again and said " It's probably just the beer " once again I am cut off.


On the plus side, you never seem to be cut off for long.

I would contend that we have zero untouchable players, but the closest we have is Horvat. Arguably Virtanen as well.

We would never trade them, but just think of the return if we traded them to a contender and ate $3M of each of their cap hits! Cha-ching!!!

I think they're untouchable only because no one can afford them both and you'd have to trade them both to the same team for them to waive. 14 mil would be like 30% of one team's cap. Plus what you get back? You're not getting an upgrade on them, and likely more than a few bad contract back, why bother?

He's a 1st pairing shut down defender. Much like Jay Boumeester

If we trade them it's to build for the future. We would get A prospects and picks. Perhaps we take a short term bad contract back, but we could just eat some salary to make it work. If we were building for the future we wouldn't necessarily need every dollar for ourselves anyways.

If you're a contender, you're likely already close to the cap and if you're rebuilding/retooling, they are too old for what you're trying to do.

I can only see it happening at the tdl, the last year of their contract. Canucks are out of it, and a contending team wants them.... (Canucks could take back similar salary)

Don't see it happening though. Never know where the team will be in a couple seasons.

If you read my previous comments I stated that there is no way we will ever trade them. Also, that if we were to eat $3M each, they would be very affordable and would be worth a boatload in trade.

yup. Only chance they dont is if the decide to split apart. Frankly I dont see that happening.
