Fans fall in love with players too easily. Yes players are human but it is also business. Cheer for the name on the front not the back. I have certain players I like but if they are gone for the betterment of the time so be it. - thundachunk
If this were to happen we should be moving the twins then |

I will touch one more thing on tanking , and smart management.
Winning the last game of the year ,when we had a playoff spot clinched , cost us 8 spots in this years draft. We have an old team , to me that is horrible management . - VANTEL
Winners don`t play to lose. Pride isn`t always a bad thing. Who the F"ck tells their players to go out and lose this one. Seriously WTF |

Linden was expendable. Why not them. I love them but I am also for change. |

That's dumb. Can't tell the players to lose. Do you think Bieksa or the Twins give a rats ass about a rebuild? - HonkyTonkMan
You rest those players for the playoffs and bring in AHL players to assess talent. Edmonton fans should be use to that strategy |

You rest your star players for that game. It is done in every sport |

We'll see.

News 1130 Sports: Brad Richardson said his reps have been negotiating with the Canucks and he’s optimistic about it, despite talks only being in the first stages: “My first priority is to be back with the Canucks. I love the team and love the city, so hopefully something works out.” |

Why is it garbage? One third of the league used that strategy this year to better the future of their teams. It has now become a strategy of teams .
Toronto stripping down to bare minimum this year with their picks and cap space will be in a much better position after next year than our aging club will be |

The effectiveness of losing on purpose has its pro's for sure, that said, unless your management is on board with this, which Linden & Benning aren't, it's really a mute point.
Just my opinion but I think they'll eventually be forced into a few bad seasons when the twins retire. Which should get them some pretty high picks. |

It is not up to players to tank. A pro player should always play his best.
If Canucks mgmt said Edler Tanev Hamhuis Sedins Bo we are going to sit you guys out for the last game let you rest for the playoffs .
Canucks lose we move up eight spots and now we sit here discussing if we can trade Edler for the 10 th over all which is five spots better than what we would have had.
Mgmt have to start looking at everything |

I get your point for sure...but they were headed into the playoffs and I believe they believed they had a chance to win a Cup if they got on a roll.
You wanna head into the playoffs on a winning note with everyone feeling positive. I guarantee you they gave two poops about draft position. |

Would the team have been bettered served resting the top players with a few more days off?
This is not a young team anymore . You should not be trying to get 82 games out of the twins or Burrows
As much as old school fans don't like it strategic positional finishing is becoming part of the game. It lays the foundation for the next decade of your team.
Trading has become very difficult and teams are locking up top players , so drafting and development is key.
Like I said sometimes you have to strip right down and start over |

Don't tell me who I can cheer for.
Going out and watching the Canucks fail AGAIN with the same roster is prehistoric thinking.
Those guys for four years now have failed with the same unemotional attitude and skill.
I want to give new guys a chance like Baertschi JV Grenier Pedan Sanguinetti Clendenning . I don't care if I lose more , at least I will see a team with a pulse |
