He is going to grow up very quickly when he fights his first pro instead of a kid from JR. he was willing to battle a guy 6'5 when he played for the Comets.
I think he and Dorsett will do fine together next year - VANTEL
If the kids are ready, I hope they find their way into the lineup.

All these non-waiver eligible players...Vey Baertschi Clendenning and now potentially Grigorenko
Forcing ones own hand...or maybe forcing WD's hand in terms of playing youth...hope it's effective |

WD better be ready to play Clandening. Why trade for a player that has to be exposed to waivers to be sent down, if you don't want youth in the lineup? JB traded for AC because he was further along in his development than Forsling, so get him in the lineup.
I don't know, sometimes it looks like we might have too much youth on the brink of having to be played or lost to waivers. Maybe we will see JB move one of these guys for a pick just so there aren't too many in the lineup. |

That's the wrong way of thinking IMO. Benning gambled on older players being ready, if they are not ready there is no point continuing to try and force the issue.
If Clendenning or Corrado or any other young player isn't ready or just isn't good enough (not that I'm saying these players are that) then mgmt needs to be prepared to eat the bullet and move on.
Clendenning for a 5th was a pretty good gamble, if at the end of the day he isn't ready and is risked through waivers, that is a better option than him rotting in the pressbox or getting taken advantage of on the ice.
From the sounds of it Clendenning struggled in the Utica, especially in the playoffs. Players need to earn their spot with the big team, I hope he is ready to take a spot come September but if not, Weber/Corrado/Beiga/Sanguinetti/Stanton among others are options as well. |

Buf has no need for Vrbata and I doubt Buf is on his list of trade teams. |

There is a huge difference between tanking and knowing you need to start over again. Canucks have a current bunch of dandelions but are trying to grow a rose garden. It is never going to happen with this group . The core is wilting. Sometimes you realize you don't have the proper mix and need to re seed.
Tanking is where you want a bad team. We want a better team but we understand the process how to get there .
You might even say that people that want the rebuild are more passionate about winning than the people wanting the slow and steady route of mediocre team for years.
You need top end players to win a cup . There are very few ways to get that - VANTEL

Hope it doesn't come to that.
The idea of Clendening and Corrado being ready, thought I heard that from JB.
Presently, I think they have too many of these possible 6/7/8 dmen, I am giving Sbisa the 5 spot, and think they need more flexibility- not having to expose dmen to waivers, maybe they'll move Stanton or another, and plan on having 2 dmen in the press box all the time. |
