so if the best offer was john scott we should take it? that's idiotic. they need to set a price, and get what they believe comes closest to that price. if nothing comes close, why trade him?
- matt1337

I didn't say Leafs had to take it.
If the best offer is John Scott it's because Kessel has no value, that there's no interest around the league. Pretty simple concept. Of course it won't happen, but it's still the way it works. The buyers decide the price they're ready to pay, not the other way around.

Toyota can decide the value of the Corolla is 40k, if people are not ready to pay more than 20k, well guess what. The value of the Corolla is 20k.

So coming back to Kessel, Leafs can set what ever price they want, but if the best offer they receive is a 1st and a prospect, well that's Kessel' value.

What happens if the Leafs accept a fairly weak offer? Is that better than prolonging the agony?
- HonkyTonkMan

There are already offers for Kessel that the Leafs are willing to accept.

I'm curious. This trade is going to set the bar for future star players, I think.

This Canadian sprinter looks like the next big thing

http://www.thestar.com/sp...ush-to-decide-future.html

He broke the Canadian record in the 200, and became the first Canadian since Bruny Surin in 1999 to dip under the 10-second mark in the 100.

And then last weekend in Eugene, Ore., he blew away the field in both the 100 and 200 metres — which were less than 45 minutes apart — at the NCAA championships.

While his times of 9.75 and 19.58 were both wind-aided, being slightly over the allowable 2.0 metres-per-second tailwind, they rank as the fastest wind-aided times in the world this year........................

he trained at only trained at 70-75 per cent of what Smith Gilbert considers a full load, she said. In the gym, the focus was on lifting properly than lifting max weights. Moving up to heavier weights will improve his power and strength coming out of the blocks.

Panthers not signing any of Kopecky, Upshall or Ellis. That's right leave room for Phil.
