About 10-15 years ago, I had my dog in a shallow bay in Collingwood, and some sturgeon came in. Scared the hell out of me (my stupid dog didn't even notice them).

They were effing huge.

I was fishing in the Tri Lake area and heard this woman screaming about her dog. I ran over to ask what the problem was. Her small dog had fallen in the water and she said a huge fish came up and the dog was gone. "Really". I said as I opened my tackle box. "What colour was your dog?"

Idk if they're that big in the great lakes, but the Fraser river in BC sure.. I've seen a couple at the Ontario place docks that were over 100lbs easy.. (frank)ing huge.. I used to catch carp like that in Lake Nipissing when I was a kid...

There was a famous Russian Sniper named Vassili Zaitsev. He was the subject of the movie Enemy at the Gates. Whenever Zaitsev is the subject of a discussion there are "sniper" references.

right now its the stage in the harbor where the only thing around is the odd trout and lots of carp..

soon the sheepshead and perch will roll in.
