the Quebec/Colorado franchise had three first overall's in a row and traded them all. Did they win all those trades, no (See sundin for Clarke) but they did win the cup and built a great team. I'm obviously not an Oiler fan but at some point they have to make some trades and take some risks otherwise they are just that mouse who continues to get shocked going for the cheeze
- Ross77

Quebec also drafted 9th, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 10th and 12th before moving. Not exactly an instant turnaround. The Oilers don't HAVE to make a trade, what trade did the Blackhawks make to turn their franchise around? The Kings?

la didn't make a meaningfull move for years. Lombardi was gm for like 4-5 seasons when they moved for Richards and carter. and they had already had high picks under the preceding regime as well.

Chicago signed hossa. not traded for him

Hossa was a free agent signing and Richards and Carter were actually brought in after the Kings had made the playoffs for two seasons.

Trading All-Star players for guys who have played 0 NHL minutes is probably the best course of action.

hall is elite. top couple lws in the game. back to back top ten scorer by 22.

morrisey does not make us better this year. especially for hall

I could go on and on about the vast misconceptions of the kings rebuild.

TBH, Ross may have something going on here.

Remove Hall and put Eberle and add in the 16th, and add in Buff (Extended)

Eberle + 16th for Buff + Morrisey woudl be the centre package; after this it is more based on picks; however, it all depends on who is avaialbe at the 16th.

Gets us a NOW NHL Defender and a great Top 4, even Top 2 Potential defender later on.

Oilers defense, once Nurse and Klef develop, and Morrisey reaches his potential:

Klefbom - Buff
Morrisey - Nurse
Fayne - Schultz

That looks just too damn good.

ok, what do you think you should ask for? RNH would not be a number 1 center on almost every team right now. Hall has question marks about health and attitude. Eberle is a good player but hasnt put up numbers that exactly jump off the page. Yak has done nothing thus far.

if you all want to just stay the course, great!! good luck but seriously if you are going to trade someone for help now what are you expecting? you can rip my trade of Morrisey and Comrie but do i need to cut and paste every Oil fan who has proposed a Draisitle trade for a all star nhl'er right now? is that not the same thing?
