I am not sold on CC anyways, look at the defence that plays in front of him. He may not be the answer we are looking for and with that price tag, I don't really want to gamble on it.

Crawford is good....he's the second coming of Chris Osgood good.

I guess if we don't put Rundblad in there,
16th + Scrivens + 3rd or 2nd or both (This year) for Crawford?
Would we want to bite on that trade? Or is 6 mill for a goalie too much, considering whom we will have to resign later on. - EdmHockeyMan
honestly the 16th is more than enough, Crow has a terrible contract and an above average goalie playing behind one hell of a D core. He gets the job done but still does poop liek this

Corey Crawford's name is popping up as a potential trade candidate because the Hawks will have to choose between him and Seabrook when his contract runs out next year. I'd rather see the Hawks keep Crawford, but going to have to choose between them.
Oilers need a goalie. Hawks have one to potentially trade. Good trade partners for this. I think it wouldn't be crazy:
Crawford for #16 overall pick and Draisaitl.
I know people will probably not like including Draisaitl, but CC is a hell of a goalie and has 2 cups on his resume. - Dannyboy

That may be true, but he does come up big in big moments. He held Tampa scoreless in the final. He made some amazing saves to just keep it 2-0.
However, I see your point; at 6-8 mill we could get a good starter and a good defender honestly (Jaybo + Elliott; I honestly see that being our best option for a TOP2D and a consistent, proven starter (Both together will only take up nearly 8 mill in cap space).
You could have just accepted my offer. I didn't really want more in return but thanks. - Feds91Stammer
Well realistically, A 19th in this draft and Howard for the 16th alone?
Pretty sure your GM can get a little bit more out of us; howard is a good/elite goalie and then you add the 19th where a great defender may be available, especially in a draft like this?

Crow gets the job done for the hawks, just hes the right goalie for that team, niemi did the same thing for them too. When you have a hall of famer in Keith and some really solid Dman in Seabrook and hjalmarsson (never mind past guys in Buff, Oduya, Leddy). Goalies dont need to steal games for them, just make the right save at the right time

Fine. I'll keep 19th and give you a third instead. Then I can package the 16th and 19th so I can move up and get one of the top 3 D before Colorado. Suck it fatmarsh

Realistically, that would work.
16th for Howard + 3rd (This year)
We can then use a 2nd and two thirds in a combo with a good prospect (Marincin?) and maybe another pick to land a good Top 2 defender.
Also, lets not forget that the last time we had a 19th daft pick in an ORDINARY year, that pick turned out to be Klefbom and he is looking to be that TOP2 defender that we want, just a side note there.

I think most Hawk fans know that there is no chance the Oil would do that deal. Now , how about Crawford and Sharp , or Bickell or all 3 for the 16th and Eberle. If not Eberle then whom? - HawkfaninBC
I realize you guys just won the cup, but you guys need to (frank) off.
