Would Hawks fan of traded Toews for a goalie before his first full NHL season? Bc thats exactly what they are proposing with draisaitl

If you go back and read the trade proposal it was 1 Hawk fan that proposed Crawford for the 16th and Draisaitl. A ridiculous trade for the Oilers no doubt . I think the Blackhawks knew what they had in Toews more than the Oilers know what they really have in Draisaitl. I could be wrong though.

Draisaitl drafted in 2014, split time with Oilers and WHL in 2014-15 season

Both big Cs drafted third overall.

I dont think they had anymore clear of an idea of what he could have been as the Oilers have with Draisaitl. Toews had a great run at the worlds before joining the NHL, and Leon had a dominate Mem cup run.

So they would be trading Toews for a 30 year old goalie at the same point in their careers. Similar goalie would be Jean-Sébastien Giguère at that time, coming off his cup win,

I like Morrissey, loads of potential but is he really going to be any better than Klef or Nurse? To improve quickly they need to go after someone like Seabrook from Chicago or OEL from Arizona. I know it's easier said than done and they would have to give back some very good players or prospects. Staying the so called course is unacceptable as I think 9 years and no playoffs is long enough. What is acceptable to Oiler fans , 11 , 12 , 13 years and no playoffs?

What do you think of the Eberle + 16th for Buff + Morrissey + 2nd trade proposal as the main pieces, with 2nd and 3rd draft picks to even out the sides.
IMO, it works out both ways if that 16th pick is a spot Winnipeg WANTS to pick from; it addresses both teams needs (WPG - Offense \ EDM - Defence).
But what about you new guy? What's your opinion on the matter?

I just really think that this trade proposal is one of the better ones out there. Better than Drai + 16th for Crawford by Lightyears, that is for sure; You gotta be retannered to make such a suggestion as that.

Possibly but with Toews they knew his potential to be a great captain and leader right off the hop, Draisaitl , if he turns out to be half the player Toews is then the Oilers should keep him. To me his potential looks more like Rick Nash.
