Hi all , I'm new to hockeybuzz and find it very funny to read all of the stuff and especially the trade proposals. I think a good number of Oiler fans are so used to losing that they have let this become a way of life and probably find it difficult to imagine anything else. Sort of like a bad relationship , keep coming back for more , because that's all one knows. IMO the Oil HAVE to make some fairly major moves to improve their D and goaltending. It will probably involve trading Eberle + draftpicks to take steps in the right direction. If not Ebs then maybe Yak or Hall. Status Quo is not acceptable any more, we need to see MAJOR progress next season. Thank you.

Well it all depends on that 16th and who is available. If a great defender is available at the 16th, I can see Winnipeg make the trade.

Remember, we drafted Klefbom at the 19th pick in an AVERAGE/GOOD year and he is probably going to end up being a Top 2 solid defender; this year is one compared to 2003!

I have to agree with you about Yak, still not sure about him, but remember that Defence wins championships, look at Chicago, hell the Defender got the game winner (Keith).

I'm still kinda fuzzy on that one too....

Corey Crawford's name is popping up as a potential trade candidate because the Hawks will have to choose between him and Seabrook when his contract runs out next year. I'd rather see the Hawks keep Crawford, but going to have to choose between them.

Oilers need a goalie. Hawks have one to potentially trade. Good trade partners for this. I think it wouldn't be crazy:

Crawford for #16 overall pick and Draisaitl.

I know people will probably not like including Draisaitl, but CC is a hell of a goalie and has 2 cups on his resume.

If OEL was in this draft and The Coyotes had the 1st overall, I'd take Lawson Crouse over Mcdavid but after OEL.

I like Morrissey, loads of potential but is he really going to be any better than Klef or Nurse? To improve quickly they need to go after someone like Seabrook from Chicago or OEL from Arizona. I know it's easier said than done and they would have to give back some very good players or prospects. Staying the so called course is unacceptable as I think 9 years and no playoffs is long enough. What is acceptable to Oiler fans , 11 , 12 , 13 years and no playoffs?
