Lebron reminds me a lot of Tiger. Not the greatest of all time but made the sport watchable again
- hubie

Me too, but I like a lot about him that some "star" athletes miss. He is a good speaker, gives praise to opponents, has not been arrested for anything crazy, and is really, really good. Nor has he been injured much in his career.

I tend to agree with you. Sure he will make mistakes, but who doesn't. I think he is close than McDavid (in the short term) to play in NHL.
- Lilroot9

Nobody is perfect. Yes, he's going to make mistakes at times. But he in no way should be in the bottom 6 for more than a handful of games to start the season, if that.

My biggest issue with him which I didnt watch lastnight is that in the past he was a sore loser. May have changed but its not a big deal anyways

If Lebron could have done the "Impossible" he could have elevated equal to JORDAN, his loss didn't hurt his Greatness, but the Best Player in the World couldn't do the "Improbable"

Lebron was defeated last night from the opening Tip-off, Jordan would have NEVER GIVEN up.
The KING should have Created on his own early, in order to get his mates involved, instead he begged his teamates to perform, which they didn't and he was resigned to losing..........

From Ek's new blog:

"Detroit wants Mike Green, but Ehrhoff could come at a much more reasonable hit "

The hoff is 10x the player that Mike Green is right now

I hear you, not sure I remember anything specific, not a big fan of sore losers, but I feel like I was a little bit when I was little, so maybe that is why it bothers me so much. It is tough to play 100% for so long and see it end and be instantly ok with it. In sports there are so many moments where you may feel the other team got an advantage and sometimes if it happens and then the game ends, its tough to be good with it right away.

I would much rather have Ehrhoff as well. I hope to god Murray stays as far away from Green as possible.

Dude has been playing with scrubs, when did Jordan play with scrubs and win a championship? Did you watch them play, I wondered how some even made the league, let alone the finals. Oh wait, cause LeBron got them there, but you can't beat the best team in the league with one player. Need a team effort. Cavs did not really have a team.

Well if he trades a D man, maybe he goes after Ehrhoff? Did that end badly? I know Murray bought him out, so maybe he wants nothing to do with him. I just know he did not want to play for a last place team and we were worried about cap penalty later, not sure it ended "badly" but just a respectful way, maybe? lol

While the cards were stacked against him and he is a great player, he'll never be the GOAT.
- dadeadhead

I agree, but I don't feel sorry for him. I understand his best players went down, like what happened to the Sabres vs. the Canes. Thems the brakes, the Sabres could have gone into GAME 7 , resigned like Lebron did in this game in front of all of his Hometown fans. Instead the Sabres "Misfits" fight to the end, and they went into the 3rd period with a 2-1 lead.

"We are measured on what we do when it matters most"

When James was in a comanding position, up 2-1 with the Warriors choking a bit, James had multiple chances to complete 'The greatest feat in Basketball History"

He then couldn't make the shots, the decisions, in game 4, when it mattered most.

I will say this, when the injuries happened every sports talk radio was saying they wouldnt win another game. SO he did push the series far past what the experts projected would happen

I agree hes not the Goat, but lets not discount that Jordans Bulls teams had some very good players around him as well as the lakers and so on. Better players than Lebron had after the 2 key injuries. I would definetly say he isnt as clutch as the others
- hubie

That's legit and true. He is the most talented player in the world and he did not have the help he needed.

i would guess they wait another season.. they have him locked up at 5.9 and Vasey on ELC for the next two seasons.. ride it out and trade one with one or less years left on the contract.

Well until Ek says he hears Green or Ehrhoff to Buffalo, they're in the running for Buffalo.

We should trade for Blake Wheeler.
- TheSabresTaco

Signed him as a FA on NHL 15 for 6 mil per. Think that will work?

Easy for me.

I would think it was pretty mutual. It was obvious that Ehrhoff didn't want to be here. I think he's probably grateful that Murray cut him loose.

That's what I was thinking, maybe if we can slightly outbid everyone, he could come here for another year or two. Still have his jersey (Crosses fingers) lol

Close yes but not the GOAT. If im building an all time team yes he may be first pick, but for clutch im going MJ. It would be great to see how the old timers whould do in todays NBA.
- hubie

There's a reason Hubie Brooks and Phil Jackson have said if Jordan played in todays game he'd avg 50. No one in the league could guard him in today's NBA.

The better question is would be great to see these youngins play in the 80's and 90's and see how they did. IMO there are only a dozen or so guys today that could hack it back then.

Last night was the most I've watched the NBA in probably 18 or so years.

If it wasn't for working I wouldn't have even watched it at all.

It isn't watchable in the slightest IMO.

Yes. He's retiring. Great way to go out. You could see in the post game stuff that he's completely at peace with his decision.

I think by the end of October Eichel will have solidified himself in the top 6, if not the top 3. Not sure if you caught any of the World's, but he's more than NHL ready.
- HonkFortheGoose

i caught some and yes he looked great.. i just wonder if playing a full NHL schedule will wear him down and cause him to take a few steps back.. I hope you are right and i see that as a possibility but i just have my doubts
