it's funny because all those 8 teams are teams we don't really talk about on here as possible Kessel destinations. We've always been saying NYI, NSH, FLA .. I don't know how teams like LA, PIT, PHI, NYR, and even CHI afford him.. especially the Hawks.

Why not keep Koivu and fip him at the trade deadline..

Deal looks solid from a Leafs perspective. I like Dumba but don't know how he'll turn out... I LOVE the 1st though... let Hunter and Dubas do some more draft magickery (that's magic and trickery rolled into 1) and get us a stud with those late round 1sts.
That really is why they're here. To make sure we get top end value picks when we go up and draft a player!
Then Babcock and the team can mold them and develop them right and become above average players. That way it means tanking does not have to happen and this also reinforces the culture change at the expense of high draft picks. Which most of us are ok with. But that doesn't mean we won;'t struggle the next couple years and finish poorly because of lack of experience and NOT because of motivation to do well!

That I think is the general vision...
