Its all Drouin's fault, call Stevie Y right now and get the deal done. - ravishingone
His biggest issue as to why he hasn't played is because of his play back checking and in his own zone. You think having a coach like we do who stresses a 200 foot game will want that on his team? |

You don't think most 20 year old forwards aren't going to have growing pains when it comes to playing defense? It would be nice to have a little more skill on the wing besides just grit, which could potentially keep it in the offensive zone a little longer throughout the game.

I don't disagree, I'd very much kick the tires on him. However I'll see how long Hextall keeps his word on not wanting to move picks and or prospects in deals. |

I would be fine in moving a prospect for another prospect which is what Drouin is as this point.
No interest at all in moving a prospect or a pick for a player over 30. |

I think Hexy would move assets for guys on entry level contracts or for a prospect he truly covets. I don't think we'll see a Grossmann type trade under the stewardship of Hextall. At the time, Grossmann was only around 28.

Would it be wrong of me to say I'm jealous of how the Blackhawks are built?
Must be nice to have your 4th line out there with under a minute to go. 3rd line goes out there to win the final crucial face off.
1 to go for Kimmo |

I doubt it does also. I'll be interested to see if Yzerman tries to sign Coburn to an extension. He's probably going to get Carle money on his next contract. For some reason, I just don't see Coburn in Tampa after next season. |

Keep the picks unless the Lightning take back Vinny. Of course in a couple years we'll regret the move cause VLC will be gone and Tampa will have Provorov or Crouse or some other player with the 7 pick that is All-Star caliber and a Flyer killer. Yay.
Also, screw the Hawks...a completely unlikable team. |

Bill Meltzer: Assistant Coach Decisions Still Pending - bmeltzer
Not that the hire of Dave Hakstol wears on me because I don't know much about him but now that he's here, I look forward to what happens next. However, in the back of my mind I feel like Hextall could be wasting a lot of time if there hire doesn't workout at a time where a few experienced names were on the market. It was a rare opportunity to possibly bring in a name with a proven track record. I'm hoping Hakstol does do well here, I'm just gonna be really upset with our GM if this risk is a waste of time. |

Everyone who has a proven track record was at one time unproven. You gotta take a chance on someone eventually. I for one am glad we didn't bend over backwards for Babcock. Yes, there were other good proven options, but as I said everyone starts from nothing. |
