"some interest" doesn't sound promising.

Better than nothing. Murray is probably kicking the tires. Maybe he'll offer sheet Stepan.

I think the Yotes retained $3M from Yandle. Didn't they also trade Ducalair for him? Pretty pricey. I don't see them moving Girardi but Boyle at the deadline, maybe.
- mhp

I meant half his salary. My phone is garbage.

Girardi is way worse than he was 2 years ago, they would do anything to unload that dumb contract.

They chose him and Staal over Stralman

I actually think is a better option at this point than most of what is out there. I'd love to have yandle or stepan here but offer sheeting a player on a new york city team is a waste of time. could you imagine the media backlash if they didn't?

You're right, it was half his salary, my mistake.

Murray did say he was open to offer sheets and didn't care how many GM's he pisses off so who knows.

That certainly makes sense but the Caps would probably match considering their cap space. I'd look at some of the RFA's of the cap strapped teams.

Draisaitl will be the Oilers 3rd line centre, there is no pressing need to move him because we have a ton of other prospects/picks that can be used to accomplish the same results.

Holtby is good but what good is a goalie if there isn't a team in front of him.

Saad, Tarasenko, and Toffoli

or in order

Toffoli

Hagelin, Kreuger, Jones and maybe Hoffman could be had via trade.

I'd offer sheet Galchenyuk, Toffoli or Stepan. Go big or go home. The Habs, Kings and Rags all have cap issues. Maybe even consider an offer sheet for Nyquist or Pulkinen, but the Wings have the space so probably not worth it.

We both want Hagelin. I can see Murray making a pitch for Jones, fits his criteria.

Homie has an irrational hard on for reinhart. He's top 3 since the 1970 draft.

Love the speed and two way game, agreed on jones but his numbers weren't exactly eye popping either.

Threw Hoffman in there because of how many high profile RFA's Ottawa's got to deal with this year.

He could be the replacement for Moulson in a few years.

I like your thoughts on Hoffman. Although Hagelin could be Moulson's replacement.

stop it

just because we have a new toy, there is no reason to think reinhart is anything less then a second line center in the nhl

You are very hung up on this "new toy" phrase. I never once said he would be anything less than a second line center did I? Am I missing something, or are words just putting words in my mouth?

Your statement of him being top 15 since the Crosby draft is a bit out there. Let's stick to facts.

He could but i think on a cup team Hagelin is a better fit for a 3rd line role, that's when you know you're team up front is deep.
