plus/minus is a pretty crappy stat to base a decision on, but here you go:
-34, -5,-3, -10,-20
-19, 2, 4, -2, 11 |

nash. but really, they're both terrible defensively.

I dont agree. Nash is ok on the d side. Kessel is just lost on that side of the puck. My point is thinking youll get a deal like the nash trade just isnt happening |

Bill Meltzer was the first I saw to post this theory, makes sense. on some levels, but nit sure I see Lecavalier walk away from nearly $10mm |

i hear ya, if i have the choice between sitting in the press box or forgoing $10mm, i probably choose the pressbox and wait for a buyout.
vinny holds a lot of leverage with the NMC. If the flyers could force his hand by sending to the ahl, it is a very different choice. Ridding out his career on a bus does not so sound appealing to me. |

That's the rub. The Flyers lone leverage exists if Vinny wants to play so badly he is willing to bail on that much money. |

What's worse, playing in the AHL and riding a bus, or not playing at all, and becoming a well paid season ticket holder?

clearly the ahl is far worse imo.
nhl is charter flights, first class food, facilities and treatment all the way. tough for someone that is used to that lifestyle to adjust to the ahl lifestyle.
easy for me to say, but ultimately it's up to vinny. |

I think most of all, Lecavalier wants to play hockey. We'll see how it plays out.

If the scouting team has really done their homework (as they always do), the risk is minimal. Go for the highest ceiling prospect, and let the team's infrastructure and development system bring him up the right way. I don't think highly rated prospects just fail. I think they fail for a reason. And I think a team's player development system can have a massive difference in whether or not a highly rated prospect fails. - JAKEw1234
Very spot on. It's not like these kids forget how to play hockey. Yeah some of it may be on the ice, but like you said, it's very much in how these players are brought along. |

No the latest I've seen from draft analysts who have watched as much of Crouse as I did of Eddie Shore, is that he's nothing but a big grinder |

I don't know, Vinny pretty much made it clear he wanted out I'm sure he realizes he has little to no trade value. Hexy made it clear it hasn't worked out for him or the Flyers either....I'd be shocked if there wasn't a mutual termination. |

I'm fine if he's the pick. Not my pet prospect, but I agree with you about his ability and think he's going to be good. |

I have the 5 I think I'd consider the most at that spot but won't be upset if it's Crouse at all. |
