And he's on an ELC why would Tampa just give up on him?
- ob18

In my mind getting a possibly NHL ready dman like Provorov on an ELC, plus a 2nd rounder for Drouin would make a team that's stacked at forward like Tampa better. Every Tampa fan I see online wants too get rid of Carle and Provorov could be his replacement if not next season, then by 16-17.

2 play-off game winners....if he pots 2 or 3 more goals and they win the whole thing, no one will care
- nails

Nah. They would rather have that # 30 pick back. And draft a player that wouldn't see the ice for them for 5 years, if at all.

Hakstol has never coached at the NHL level, and he's making the same salary as coaches like Michel Therrien, Alain Vigneault, and Dave Tippett...

Ummmm. Why??

I know I said it hasn't looked good with what they gave up, but in their position with that roster and who they have becoming a free agent they took a chance.

They also have a solid base in their farm system to have even made those moves.

And then he pots two GWG, including a snipe in game 1 of the SCF, and the detractors have gone the way of the Edsel.

how about laughton and the late 1st?
- nails

Probably not enough for them.

The Schenns and their 1st? Maybe. They'd probably want Ghost over Luke tho.

I can't see Tampa making the move but at the very least you inquire.

I'm certain that has absolutely no place in Tampa's analysis.

Here's a valid question: what does the Vermette trade have anything to do with Hackstol?

Or is it just another way to stir the pot?

For the eighth what? As in "eighth pick of the first round"?

The Schenn Pu-pu platter won't get that for you.

You'd do it for the last pick in the 7th round

Ron Hextall would drive both Schenns to their final destination no matter what part of North America it was in if he could get a middle of the first round pick for both of them.

For the two I'm not so sure a mid first is all that unrealistic.

I think he's got some value but not sure him & his brother get a top 10 pick.

If it happens I don't think it would happen till the first six picks have been made.

I think you maybe get a 3rd for Luke. He's right handed and, despite being around seemingly forever, is still young. I don't think he's going to get faster, however.

The wildcard is what other GMs think of Brayden. Is he a developing player or a finished product? It only takes one to think there is still some potential.
