Certainly a concern but like you said, not something to get too worked up over as it is still coach able.

I think he might actually be the best forward fit for us tbh when its down to Barzal, Zacha, Crouse and Rantanen.

The interview process with him is probably going to be important. I like him certainly above the latter 2.

At the draft do you look to deal the Dman/Dmen for picks this year, next year or both? Or do youjust want what you think would be the highest pick regardless of year.

I wonder how much weight the flyers would put into zacha being a country mate with voracek. Voracek is probably the best Czech player in the world now. You'd think if the flyers had concerns about zacha's development/maturation, having voracek on board gives zacha a player he would really respect and be comfortable with and could help steer him. Much like jagr/voracek.

It seems to be a big thing with Europeans. Teravanien seems to have really embraced kimmo

If they can get picks now, go for it now. Next year's class is good, but probably not as deep.

That said if it's a 3rd next year vs a 4th this....

I think you take the best deal. Something at some point has to to give. Have to believe that they signed Medvedev with the idea that they were going to increase mobility and puck skill, and make a move with one of the veterans.

Don't think that has much to do with it. A few months ago tho I read Flyers scouts were enamored with his play.

I thought the Islanders got a good deal last year trading 28 for 35 and 57. Not as attractive, but if the Flyers have players 30-38 close would you trade 30 for 38 and 68 or 69?

So much more fun when there are possibilities.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hextall picked up Medvedev to deal Grossman at the draft and then Medvedev at the deadline. Although 33 isn't old for a Dman.

If Medvedev has a strong season, he could be a trade chip, being on a one year deal. I think it depends on where the Flyers are in the standings. I expect them to be in the playoff hunt.

I'm interested in trying to compare draft grades of last year's dmen drafted in the first round, compared to the three prospects. So how would Ekblad, Fleury, Honka, Sanheim, DeAngelo, Hanifin, Provorov, and Werenski? If any of the three guys this year is high up the list, I just don't see how he gets passed at #7. It sure seems like a dman who can eat 25 minutes a night is as important as the starting goalie in the playoffs.

I'd look for picks in both drafts if possible, I wouldn't need them all this year if they do make trades for more

No doubt. Flyers have a good pool of defense prospects, but I won't have a problem if they draft another defenseman. That important and that hard to get.

I agree. It's a win win since all he costed was money.

I also think next year at least right now has some decent players that will be in them......etc

Auston Matthews, Jesse Puljujärvi, Jacob Chychrun, Logan Brown, Matthew Tkachuk, Sean Day, Max Jones, Michael McLeod, Tyson Jost, Tyler Benson, Jake Bean, & Sam Steel

I have to do. Site visit this year and it was suggested for the 26th since the locations are. I said no way. Might even take off that day.

I know the Flyers brass said they would lean more towards a forward than a defensemen if both were equal, but I'm hoping they would go with the defensemen. As much as our d-men prospects looks promising (Sanheim, Morin, Ghost, Hagg). I just think that odds are in favor of 1 or 2 won't pan out or never reach their full potential. I believe it's a lot easier to acquire a decent forward via trade /FA than a d-man. So if Provorov or Werenski are available the Flyers should select them.

Wasn't this kid at one point thought to have generational type potential? I sort of remember reading an article some time ago about him.
