Yeah, that is pretty unfair. But I've been on your threads and explained that the derogatory term 'Leafsfans' as used by Iggysbf and others, applies to specific group of Leafs fans that post here. And I've been courteous enough to list them in the past.

What you have to do is your duty, which is to corral these Leafs fans and correct their stupidity, and have them refrain from spreading their malarkey throughout the realm.

Probably easier to Shepard a couple hundred kittens tho.

it is what it is..........a little over the top, but i have no issue with players being passionate about playing for their country. if a canadian player/team did that to the russians or americans, i'd think it was funny.

Be passionate about playing for your country sure. But when its that country and its fans that are paying you and giving you your livelihood I expect at least a bit of respect.

i remember about 3 years ago, there was an oiler fan (he had bill murray as his avatar) who said he wouldn't move sam gagner for erik karlsson because the oil needed centers more than d-men.

Anyways, i think we can all agree that if you are in need of a goalie you have to go to Vancouver. At any given time, they will always have 3 of the top 2 goalies in the NHL.

fair enough.............but to be fair, he wasn't playing in ottawa yet at that point (although he was playing jr's in canada).

i'm sure we've all said and done things in the heat of a sports induced rage, than in hindsight we probably wish we had a do-over for...........in my case, atleast one per period (i had a lot of PIMs this year )

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Bernier is a good goalies who can stop pucks, he's not poop, he's not top-5 elite.

As for the defence, it's actually not as bad as you think. A lot of the problems stem from the Leaf forwards lack of commitment to defence.

But this is the type of thread that gets us in trouble. The mods say we are too unfriendly to outsiders coming in here. I said outsiders are welcome if they dont make stupid proposals for our young guys. That rarely happens though.
We have many great outsiders that are fans of other teams that are welcome here.

I do enjoy when they come in here, I'm not a fan of being banned because of it.

I think the Oilers are still at leats 3 years away from contending so I would choose a young goalie ( 21-24 ) to grow with the team. the Jets also have two potential stars in Hellybuck and Comrie I'd look at and inquire about. Hellybuck is getting alot of attention now but i think Comrie will be awesome as well.

lundqvist, price, rinne, rask, anderson, bishop, fleury, schneider, dubnyk, quick, luongo, bobrovsky, crawford, andersen, gibson, allen, howard, varlamov, holtby, hiller, smith, halak, miller, lack

you could make an argument that there are 20 goalies on that list better than bernier....or pretty damn close.
