People say that Sid Crosby is the best player since Gretzky - Toews and Lindstrom have impressed me more, accomplished more, and imo have had greater impacts on their teams. You want to say they played with great players - kane, yzerman, keith, datsyuk, seabrook, kronwall - fair enough but Pens are not that bad either with Letang, Malkin, Gonchar, Staal, Fluery and (at times) Hossa, Iginla. Crosby is one hell of a player but people that think he's above and beyond better start counting rings again in 10 days

I am not impressed with giving up a high price for somebody else's backup goalie.
Also, with the draft coming up soon, I have a trade proposal that makes some sense, at least to me!! After selecting Connor McDavid , how about asking the Maple Leafs if their #4 pick is available, (But) only if Hanifin is still on the board, e send them Draisaitl.
Oilers walk aay ith McDavid, Hanifin and still have the rest of our picks..
With Nugent-Hopkins and and McDavid no our top 2 centers, this trade makes so much sense..We can even expand the trade , but getting stronger on defense in the same draft we land a franchise center is all win-win

How is Hanifin in any way ready to step into the NHL, and make the Oilers stronger?

It was an idea. Never said it was a good idea. Rumours are that Kings aren't adverse to including other pieces to dump Richards' contract.

If they hold off a few years (say until 2018), the buyout penalty wouldn't suck so bad.
