we need better defencemen. of either hand.
im also not sure mm will ever make an impact on this squad. - Ihateallofu
Klef was a legit top pair guy last year. And had a poopty partner. Give him a real top pair right hand partner and that's a real top pair IMO. Klef/Shatt?

Honestly, Schultz looked like a legit second pairing guy when paired with Klefbom too. It's almost like the combo of N.Schultz/Ference/Nikitin wasn't very good. |

I think he was the best we had no doubt. and had stretches where he was able to handle the minutes thrown at him. but he still struggled at times.
it was right after so many of us were drooling over how well he was playing (myself included) that he got fed to the wolves and had some really weak games.
im extremely hesitant to say klefbom is a legit top pair guy already.
or a legit one on a good team anyway.
I think he will be a solid 2ish type, but if we're thrusting him back into that #1 role without some serious insulation, we'll struggle again.
and again, have one of the worst defences in the league most likely
shattenkirk is a helluva dman. but id prefer a more two way focused guy |

he looked it at times. for a playoff team too.

For me; if we get a top pair guy it has to be right side. I'd take a UFA for the left to pair with Shultz on second.
Klef/Shatt or top pair rhd
Martin type or Beauchemin for 2 yrs/ Shultz
Nurse/Fayne

He started over Miller in the Playoffs. I think he can do it. |

thats right you did, i thought you guys would have enjoyed me finding that nugget about Flames fan thinking a package with Hudler as the main piece would get them Malkin.
That was my gift to you and Iggy - DDM-Coga
Wait, we can get Hudler AND extras for Malkin???? Sign me up!!!!! |

That's a ridiculous overpayment. No dice - Ihatebrianburke
16th, 33rd, MM, Scrivens for Jay-Bo, Allen
(1st, 2nd)
Hmmm... I wouldn't say it's far off value wise but certainly the Oilers can do better with those picks.
I have no interest in Lehner until I see him post injury. Not worth giving up assets for a mush head.
I'd do Lack or Markstrom all day before Lehner. - Iggysbff
As a guy that's seen Lehner play live enough - he is going to be a #1 goalie. Health is not an concern - although more of an issue than I thought it was/going to be.
im interested in both depending.
both certainly have their pros and cons. (stability is nice, but 3 years left on andersons deal isn't completely ideal)
depending on the price, id be happy if we acquired either one of them - Ihateallofu
When Anderson signed that deal I was like :S because the Sens have Lehner coming and I want him to be the #1 here.
This offseason is gonna be interesting to watch, I bet it starts at the draft. I hope PC goes out and finds a top 2 dman somehow as well as a legit starting goalie and I hope when I see the deals, I don't cringe and then cry. - Horseguts Definitely. I was so happy when Oilers came up but I couldn't even imagine how it feels to be IN edmonton. I have family there so hopefully will visit soon. But man, PC has my full confidence. He's also extremely good at cap management. Trading young players should be off the agenda - these kids are gems, but need new system and new leadership strategies (imo)
The only way I'd go for Lehner is if he's dirt cheap and there is another deal lined up for a real starter. - Dangles13 Giving up on Lehner (for the Sens) is similar to giving up on Yakupov. The potential is much higher and I expect both to overcome their early dips in their respective careers |

If Lehner is so damn good why would Ottawa move him instead of Anderson ?

Might as well jerk off with a cheese grater. It'll be more fun, less painful, and produce better results than arguing with Alfie about Lehner. |
