That's a ridiculous overpayment. No dice
- Ihatebrianburke

Take away the 33rd and that might be good enough?
However, I think the deal is good as it is. It gives us a legit starter and a top 2 defender in their prime who each still have 3-5 years left in the tank.

Jaybo is an Established Top 2 defender who is in his prime. It's not going to cost cupcakes to get him, keep that in mind.

That is just plain ridiculous to get a ban over that, were the female doges you were referring to Leaf fans and was it in the Leafs thread?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if chiarelli makes a call concerning jaybo.
and if in fact Armstrong is interested in dealing him, itd probably be the value of the cap relief and a solid prospect like marincin plus pick

- Ihateallofu

I am thinking that too.
The trade proposal I made earlier is probably a good one that the Oilers should try to pursue.
STL and the Oilers would be solid trade partners this offseason.

I have no interest in Lehner until I see him post injury. Not worth giving up assets for a mush head.

I'd do Lack or Markstrom all day before Lehner.

- Iggysbff

maybe lack, but markstrom has had multiple opportunities and hasn't been able to get it done. he keeps lighting up the minors and then struggling when he steps up to the show.
I mean maybe for next to nothing id give him a shot I guess. but that hasn't proven to work in the past.

if he plays well and even shows glimpses of filling that enormous potential post injury, his price goes up.

theres a few goalies id be interested in, but I think it would be silly to dismiss robin lehner as not being one of them. outside of the two bluechip young goalies that aren't being moved (Gibson and vasilevsky) his upside is as high as anyones. and hes still only 23.

Markstrom was injured. And then struggled. Worked a lot and is now back to looking stellar. That's exactly what I'd like to see from Lehner before I ever want him. He's also a massive Richard.

Markstrom has shown he can go through the adversity and work hard and get back to prior shape. Lehner has not. I (frank)ing can't stand lehner. Never have liked him. But that aside he has not shown he can be a starter and has not played since a serious injury. No thanks.

Not even a question in my mind Markstrom will have a better career than Lehner. Markstrom has a better attitude and work ethic.

his offensive skills are far superior to jaybos. but I think jaybos size and two way ability are more conducive to our needs. a solid top pairing defender.

hes a better version of petry in many ways. which when insulated abit with a true number 1 like subban or pietrangelo, they can be so effective.

plus shattenkirk probably isn't available under any realistic scenarios. jaybo might be

This offseason is gonna be interesting to watch, I bet it starts at the draft. I hope PC goes out and finds a top 2 dman somehow as well as a legit starting goalie and I hope when I see the deals, I don't cringe and then cry.

I agree and would rather get Lack or Markstrom over Lehner anyday but I bet Van will probably try to rape us on any deals and not even offer a courtesy spit.

stellar in the AHL. again.
until he proves anything at this level (and hes had opportunities) hes a career ahl'er. the guy passed waivers not along ago...

and I don't care about the personal stuff. never have.
im sure most of these young celebrity millionaires are douchebags. meh...

we can certainly have an opinion on who we think is gonna have the better career, but its FAR from a fact at this point.
id rather pay abit more for the superior potential lehner has over markstrom.
and it still wouldn't be an astronomical price.

We discussed this yesterday. I dont want any lefties. We have klef, nurse, MM and more on the left. If I'm giving up any assets its for a right side guy.

Agree to disagree. I would have 6-7 other options ahead of Lehner.

Benning said he hopes to get a second for Lack. If we could get him for 57 plus a prospect? I'd do it in a minute. 33 I would be more hesitant but would probably still do it.

The only way I'd go for Lehner is if he's dirt cheap and there is another deal lined up for a real starter.

we need better defencemen. of either hand.
im also not sure mm will ever make an impact on this squad.
I see flashes at times of this two way guy he could be, but jesus. I dunno about him
