With his size and supposed skillset though he should be absolutely tearing up the OHL, and he's not even going PPG.

It's rare to find guys who do average against the junior competition turn it up against adults in the NHL...

- lumlums

I think a player who can marry that skating ability with that size will always have a place in the NHL, it just remains to be seen which line he'll play on.

Scrivens + 16th + 33rd + Marincin for Elliot + Jaybo

Edm Benefits:
-Starter Goalie who is CONSISTENT AND PROVEN (In his prime and on a good contract)
-Top 2 Pair defender (Jaybo - Klefbom would be amazing to watch) (Only 31, still has about 3-4 years left in him; current iron man holder)

STL Benefits:
-Allen will have confidence in that the team trusts his as the #1 Starter (Last year, they went through Brodeur, Elliot, and Allen)
-It can provide them with some cap relief
-They can get some defense prospects with the 16th and 33rd, as well as Marincin, especially since it seems that their pool of prospects in that area is limited.
-STL gets a backup who can be a tandem with Allen

Works both ways, only way I can see it altered is by late rounders. It is a fair price on both sides.

do u guys actually hate the idea of going after lehner, or more that u just hate Alfie and his constant proposals that end up with us losing a young superstar and ending up with an average #5 defencemen with size.

id much much rather go after lehner and his potential than settle for Talbot.
we've done the go after a cheap proven backup that played solid behind a much stronger defence.......

and id be shocked if Anaheim deals Gibson.

Sens fans talk a lot about Leher being traded to Edmonton. I am not sure he has the value that Anderson does in a trade at this point in time. Plus San Jose is in need of a goalie too. They can part with some assets. I am not sure what the Oil are going to do. There are options. I am pretty sure that no matter who we get, they will look bad in net this year with our blue line as is. Plus a whole new coaching staff to get use to. I think any goalie coming to Edmonton this year should get leeway until next season. Anyone thinking the job will be easy is kidding themselves.
- Hall Fan

As far as value go, many media insiders and scout believe Lehner actually has more value than Anderson; based on his age and upside. I've advocated enough for EDM to make a serious pitch so we'll see what happens.

To OTT: 33rd pick To EDM: Anderson

To NYR: 57th pick + Scrivens To EDM: Talbot

EDM 16th pick Draft G Samsonov

- knmdlm

Craig Anderson would give any team stable goaltending for at least 2 years. Based on his age and health I don't see him being in the elite of goalies (top 5) but certianly when he's on is game he's in the top 10 and certainly in my top 12-15; if picking goalies say for 1-2 year/playoff run. On my personal list I have him in the top 10 given his SV% last season was better than Lundqvuist, Quick, Bishop, Raask and many more. Giving the 33rd pick, which has good value, is not enough
I'm not sure I like the Craig Anderson move mainly due to his age and term on his contract.

Not to mention STL have to sign Allen, Tarasenko, Michalek, Jackman, and Jokinen with only 11-13 mill in cap space.

Allen and Tarasenko alone are going to take up 6-8 mill in cap space.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if chiarelli makes a call concerning jaybo.
and if in fact Armstrong is interested in dealing him, itd probably be the value of the cap relief and a solid prospect like marincin plus pick

im interested in both depending.

both certainly have their pros and cons. (stability is nice, but 3 years left on andersons deal isn't completely ideal)

depending on the price, id be happy if we acquired either one of them

I have no interest in Lehner until I see him post injury. Not worth giving up assets for a mush head.

I'd do Lack or Markstrom all day before Lehner.
