I laugh at how they say you don't bother them because you're only a troll but each one seems to make 5+ posts explaining how they don't care what you have to say. |

I'd want more value from a Sens perspective. Some people might think I'm advocating Lehner to be traded for the Sene benefit (alone); no.
If the deal was MM and the 33rd pick for Lehner then I'd be more*inclined to do the deal. The issue there isn't value. Two 2nd round picks (a good prospect Dman in MM and a high 2nd) is great return for Lehner. Having said that, the deal could easily come back to bite Sens worse than Bishop.
Lehner's biggest challenge is not to stay healthy or to 'play better'; it's to become more mentally composed and to understand that you can't stop 100% of the shots and that focus following a big goal is SO key. Goalies mature late (28 is basically 21) and the best years hardly ever come before then. Of course they're exceptions. - AlfieisKing
I have seen the stats on Dmen maturing late and I understand why. I know goalies trend towards the same thing but it isn't a guarantee. Ward and Fleury off the top of my heads of goalies who hit the NHL as young starters and look like their best years are behind them. I can go on. Goalies are always a gamble to some sort. Just look at Rask and Quick this year. Arguably two of the best ranked goalies going into this season and both had times where they were considered to be sharing the role with career backups (Jones may be a starter someday but not likely). |

Sens fans talk a lot about Leher being traded to Edmonton. I am not sure he has the value that Anderson does in a trade at this point in time. Plus San Jose is in need of a goalie too. They can part with some assets. I am not sure what the Oil are going to do. There are options. I am pretty sure that no matter who we get, they will look bad in net this year with our blue line as is. Plus a whole new coaching staff to get use to. I think any goalie coming to Edmonton this year should get leeway until next season. Anyone thinking the job will be easy is kidding themselves. |

To OTT: 33rd pick To EDM: Anderson
To NYR: 57th pick + Scrivens To EDM: Talbot
EDM 16th pick Draft G Samsonov
Just spitballin'.
The defense isn't addressed at all which is probably more important but it
would overhaul the goalies. |

I'm not sure I like the Craig Anderson move mainly due to his age and term on his contract. |

Personally I like the idea of a veteran goalie to inspire confidence in the team and to possibly allow the Oilers to target a younger goalie who can mature into a starter. |

Honestly I like this idea. I have a similar thought for Detroit's defense. |

I know it may cost more than some of the goalies mentioned in the blog but I would have to think Vasilevsky would be available for the right price.
That's who I would be targeting. |

Apparently that Samsonov kid is a Vasilevsky clone. |

Tampa has little to no interest to move Vasy. You would probably have to give up a young blue chip defense prospect. |

If you trade or Andy, you still pick Samsanov. get the short term fix and the long term solution both at the draft. |

Use the 16th for a Dman trade
Use the 33rd to draft one of the goalies
and then Trade for a vet goalie like Elliott or Andy with Mtls 2nd rounder and some prospects. |

I think its has the least risk associated with the usage of those assets. If you come out of the the drafts 1st 2 rounds with McDavid, Samsanov, a vet goalie and Dman in trades.
Thats a pretty successful start to the offseason, takes a lot of pressure off chia having to overspend filling those roles in UFA. |

Plus he then has the option of throwing some money at Ehrhoff or a similar guy to shore up the back end and then the playoffs don't seem like a myth anymore. |
