Scratch Gibson from your list. He's the future #1A in Anaheim, and a potential Vezina contender. Andersen is just keeping the chair warm for him until he's ready. |

I'm ok with the Oilers going after any one of these goalies as long as it doesnt cost more than a 2nd round pick and a mid level prospect..or bottom six roster player.
Otherwise (more likely) just grab a decent UFA goalie at under 5 mill per for a few and keeping drafting/developing or trade another time.
Meanwhile Brossoit had a very impressive NHL debut and put up very solid AHL numbers this year and is of Gibson age.
he will be good. |

What is their defense going to look like next year? - Hossa1881
Chia already saying that no one gives up young top dmen...sound familiar?
I think we will sign Green and it'll look like
Klef/Green
Nurse/Shultz
Ference/Fayne

So do you really want to put a guy in there, even talented as he may be, who is going to get lit up and his confidence shattered behind such a weak defense? Obviously goaltending is huge, but I believe that defense is a lot more important. If your defense is good enough, you can win a cup one year with an AHL journeyman, get rid of him, and win another cup with another AHL journeyman a couple years later (Yes I'm being somewhat sarcastic but I hope you see where I'm coming from) - Hossa1881
Goaltending was atrocious last year. Dont think its all on defense. Easily 30 goals against were the result of plain old poopty goaltending. If Scrivens would stay in his net and Fasth wouldn't let in floaters from the blue line it would help the d a lot. |

Fine by me... Even if we switched Klef and Nurse around as Klef did decent with Jultz... |

(frank) no to lehner. I'd say Talbot or get niemi run with either of them with scribs and see if scrivenza rebounds. |

I know it may sound crazy to support Nikitin over anyone, but Ference is just too awful. Nikitin, while horribly under-qualified for a top-4 spot, at least does enough good to be respectable as a bottom pairing Dman. He makes his fair share of mistakes, but he at least has the capacity to do some good things. Ference, on the other hand, does not. He's atrocious defensively, worse offensively, makes bad pinches, and can't skate well enough for the league anymore. It allows McLellan to pick his own captain and- as an added bonus- Nikitin is off the books at the end of the year.
All I'm saying is if we have to pick one to get rid of, it has to be Ference. |

Except no one is going to trade for Ference till the trade deadline. Rather have terrine as a #6/7 than rely on Hunt or Aulie. |

To Edmonton: Pavelec, Byfuglien, St. Louis 1st round pick
To Winnipeg: Eberle, Scrivens, Pittsburgh 1st round pick
Good deal for both teams! |

Yeah, how about nooooooo.
Pavelec has that albatross contract and Byfuglien is out of contract in a season. We also trade down. |

Trading the 1st for Bernier would be an overpay. Trading Draisaitl for Phaneuf would be shockingly bad for Edmonton. Trading them both together would be catastrophic. |

If all the Canucks want is a 2nd Round pick up for Eddie Lack, I'd make him priority #1. He's gonna be a perineal all star in this league. Lehner I'm effy on and Gibson is gonna cost too much. Talbot would be option #3. Hopefully we can address the goaltending situation before July 1. |

Bernier is only 24 or 25 years old and has a lot of upside...It would cost at least 1st round and 2nd second next year! He was also draft it in first around and Leafs gave a lot for him. |
