How is it not fair? Phaneuf and Bernier seperately would fetch more than Draisaitl or RNH. Adding the 16th in would tip it more to the leafs favour so here's the 24th. Adding that pick in tips the deal in the Oilers favour hence the 2nd round pick. If you like it can be your other 2nd round pick. That is a fair deal. Everybody gets what they want.
Oilers get good goalie and d-man so they can compete next year and beyond, and the Leafs get the center they need. Everybody wins. - H8terade

why would you guys even want to give up the 2 best assets in that trade and then take on greening as a cap dump. IF they want want get rid of a guy who couldn't even be claimed on waivers, they would have to add a significant asset of value to take that waste of a player off their hands.
Also the deal sucks top to bottom. Beat it Senator nerds

Dead serious about Lehner... thought on that potential deal ? - LittleRicky

I'd want more value from a Sens perspective. Some people might think I'm advocating Lehner to be traded for the Sene benefit (alone); no.
If the deal was MM and the 33rd pick for Lehner then I'd be more*inclined to do the deal. The issue there isn't value. Two 2nd round picks (a good prospect Dman in MM and a high 2nd) is great return for Lehner. Having said that, the deal could easily come back to bite Sens worse than Bishop.
Lehner's biggest challenge is not to stay healthy or to 'play better'; it's to become more mentally composed and to understand that you can't stop 100% of the shots and that focus following a big goal is SO key. Goalies mature late (28 is basically 21) and the best years hardly ever come before then. Of course they're exceptions.

Lehner is worth more to Ottawa than his market value. Probably get at best 33, maybe 57+pick/prospect.
Keep Lehner and deal Anderson if you're that confident. Not like this year will be a cup contention year anyway

Agree. But I'm hoping Murray... I mean Dorion makes a good move for a forward. Dorion is very business/hockey ops savvy and knows how to negotiate.
That said, trading Anderson could make a lot of sense for a team wanting to contend in the next 3 years. He also gives young teams tons of confidence; proven in COL and OTT. The value would be similar but the immediate return would be very good starting goalie. I'd be concerned about the age only if your looking past then but for the Oilers, I don't know. I think with their picks, getting a back up like Lehner or Talbot (that has #1 potential) with signing a Niemi would be the best
