Already read your mind......Seabrook? - EdmHockeyMan
Chicago will not be getting rid of Seabrook. They have a dozen other guys they will get rid of first. He's close to untouchable. |

I'd be fine giving up those assets for those two players. I would just want an agreement on a contract extension in place prior to the trade occurring so we get more than just the one year of both those players. - ChetManly
I wonder if that can be in the terms of the deal?
They both have to sign an extension.
Buff 5.5mill per for 3 years
Seabrook 6mill per for 3 years
Seabrook (TWD) - Schultz (OFD)
Buff (TWD) - Klefbom (TWD)
Fayne (DFD) - Ference (DFD)
That would shift our defence from mediocre to amazing.
Plus, we can split Buff and Seabrook up to provide us with a balance in defence and if we need em to together to form a true TOP2 pairing we can.

I agree, they would sacrifice other players before him. Sharp, Bickell, even Crawford before him |

I heard a rumour that Seabrook would waive to play in Edmonton but he would want a max contract if he were to do so. Just a rumour but I like to dream. - Dangles13
Yeah his agent is using that as a negotiating ploy. He said there are other places he would play but anyone outside of Chicago would need a max term deal at 7-8 per.
That's crazy. |

Wake up....you're talking in your sleep...
And Seabrook would be a right side guy with Klef.
Buff right side with Nurse

they'll likely sacrifice anyone not named toews, kane, or keith before him........including hossa, teurvo, saad, hjalmarsson, etc. |

I don't think so.
If they trade Seabrook, that is the best way to be under the cap without trading 4-5 players. |

Show me where it says and. It was either or. Your team would be pretty stupid to hang on to both and not use one of them to shore up their deficiencies. Luckily for you guys stupid walked out the door Chiarelli walked in. |

zzzzzzzzzzzzz........zzzzzzzzzzzzz.....Keith would be a great addition too..........zzzzzzzzzzz
Wait what? Oh, how did I get here.
But yeah, if we can get both of them, I would worship Chia as my new supreme leader (That's right Kim Jong Un, F you) , but like I said, it is a LONG SHOT.
if we do get him, I thikn the only way to truely know who goes with who is experimentation, who knows, maybe it might be Buff and Schultz in a line together. |

Crawford, Bickell, Sharp all offer the same cap relief or more. They have replacements for the other guys. They have no replacement for Seabrook. |

I just don't see him asking for a 7m+ contract to break up he team. I bet he goes max 6m just to stay a hawk |

teams win multiple cups BECAUSE they don't trade allstar olympians who are signed to excellent contracts..........instead they move other guys (bickell, sharp, hjalmarsson, etc) who make similar money, but don't contribute anywhere close to the same level. |

Hjal......hmmm, not a bad suggestion. What would he be on the Oilers defense... a Top 4? |

Yeah. Ah well, guess our best options at getting a Top 2 defender lay in Chara, Jaybo, or Buff. |

To keep the cups coming, he will take way below what he would get as a UFA just so he can keep playing with Keith, Kane, and Toews.
If the hawks are smart and just reshuffle the deck a bit to be in a better cap sitaution after this summer. They could still have 2 of the Top 5 players in the league today as well as one of the best Top pairings in all of hockey signed long term.
Cant really complain about that. |
