I wouldn't trade the 16th for Craig Anderson....does he still do that on again off again poop every other year?
- Jeropotato

My apologies. I thought we were talking about Freddie.

Craig Anderson is still worth more than a 2nd. He's far and away Ottawa's best goalie.

Talbot and Jones don't have that potential?
- Jeropotato

I'm not sold on Jones. I'd take many others ahead of him.

I'm not sold on any of the back ups. I'll be sold on them when they're proven starters.

I disagree. Murray needs to get rid of one of them. And he needs to do it asap. If he holds out for too long then the UFAs start taking their positions and teams trade for Lack or Talbot and his window closes very quickly. Which is why he said he wants something done in the next couple weeks before the draft.

Would the Oilers like Johnathan Bernier? How about Dion?

Bernier, Phaneuf, 3rd (65)

For

1st (16), Draisaitl, Nikitin(cap dump)

i think he might be worth a 1st if it was in the 20's, but if i'm not mistaken, the oilers other 1st is 16th overall........i don't think andy is worth that, although i'd gladly take it

You need to get horseguts to update your avatar. Maybe a leafs logo getting shot up would complete it

You disagree he's far and away their best goalie? I didn't say they shouldn't trade him, they just shouldn't give him away.

I don't see how having a ton to shell out next year makes it a spending spree this year.

Beauch is replacable. That is the point. He is still someone that DOES need to be replaced and I am thinking that D is where ANA is looking to improve. If you are thinking that an RFA (Anderson) that took the Ducks to the Conference finals is getting a contract under 4.5 mil per year you are crazy. With NHL prices on the rise, I would be surprised if he didn't just earn himself over 6 mil.

Few NHL backups get 1.5 mil per season. I don't care what he made before. That has little bearing on what he is worth next summer. No way he goes to arbitration and gets under 3 mil. You want a great young 1A and 1B goalie tandem then you need to come to terms that young 1A goalies (as you stated he is) don't sign for less than every other back up did last year. If he is 1A you have two goalies over 5 mil. Good news is that the cap is moving up to accommodate this increase. Bad news is that if your team does this they will be relying on their goalies to make up for a lack of decent dmen.

I am not saying that he should be traded. I am just saying what he is worth and when his value is highest.

Your original statement was with Beauch gone, it would "create a couple holes", which I argued would not. The team already has D on the roster that can replace him. We may make a trade, but we went to game 7 of the WCF, and have D not playing (and already signed) like Wiz, that can step in. We have "dercent D" now. You claimed we had salary cap issues. I said we have between 17-20 million available to sign Etem and Silf and Fleish. That's it, unless you include Beauch. We have plenty of $. THAT'S WHY some of our RFA's for next year will be signed this year. To spread out the expenditures.

Not sure if either goalie is eligible for salary arbitration, but there is ZERO chance AndersEn or Gibson get anywhere near the $ amounts you suggest. Gibson, with 30 games in the NHL, and Andersen, with 1 full year of NHL experience, will not be awarded $3 million. Hell, LaBarbera, the Ducks back-up for most of the season, is making $750,000.

No i agree he's their best goalie. But I disagree that he is worth a first. And with the urgency to move one they will take the best offer and make the deal because they dont want to get stuck.

The smart move is on moving Lehner but I don't think Sens fans are going to be happy with the return.

I wonder if they could find a team with another struggling prospect like Carolina's Ryan Murphy.
