he's probably not a top 20 goalie in this league.....

lundqvist, price, rinne, rask, anderson, bishop, fleury, schneider, dubnyk, quick, luongo, bobrovsky, crawford, andersen, gibson, allen, howard, varlamov, holtby, hiller, smith, halak, miller, lack

you could make an argument that there are 20 goalies on that list better than bernier....or pretty damn close.

Mason had top 5 goalie stats last year and pretty much everyone would rank the Flyers D near the bottome of the nhl!! so pretty sure he is also far better

I would do both. Anderson and a 21-24 yr old would be ideal.

makes sense. or go get anderson and draft best goalie available in the 2nd round

I'm all for drafting goalies. But what goalie in the 2nd round is gonna be an NHL star in 3 years?

i think anderson for your 2nd would be a good deal for both teams.

you guys get a goalie who's in his prime, is a legit #1, and is on a pretty solid deal........and it doens't cost you a fortune.

ottawa clears out a roster spot, and gets a decent pick.....that maybe then can package with another asset to either move up in hte draft or acquire a top six guy.

Mason, Ramo...I'm sure there are more names that Bernier has yet to prove his superiority over.

Daniel Vladar at 57.

Although we have Broissoit who's trending well in the minors.

I'd draft Blackwood but your probably looking at 3-5 years away

Ok, let's not Jack each other off here...Anderson is still a #1 ( if he doesn't have another one of his famous off years), but he is past his prime. Still, I would upgrade to Anderson for a 2nd, no doubt.

Oilers have two 2nds, trade one for Anderson, draft Blackwood with the other. solves goaile today and tomorrow problems

Unless they're trading for one of Anaheims goalies, the Oilers are better off signing Niemi. Lehner would be a solid add too depending on the cost, and even he is a bit risky at this point.

I think Lehner, Gibson, and Anderson are all 50-55+ game starters in the NHL in terms of potential (Anderson already proving this).

But once you start talking about trading for guys like Talbot and Jones, you might as well keep the asset(s) and sign a guy like Niemi. As long as he wants no more than 3 years and gets no more than 4-4.5 mill per; merely a stop gap option.

I would actually rather give Talbot to be honest. Not saying he will ever be a top goalie, but if he is it will come sooner than a draftee.....now if we could just get Scribbins to (frank) off.

You could probably get Anderson for the 16th overall pick straight up, but Anaheim's going to need more than a 2nd rounder if they're going to trade him.

i think 33 is prime years for a goalie. most of the best goalies in teh league are all around there right now. it's certainly late in his prime years, but he's playing the best hockey of his career the last 4 or so years.

I wouldn't trade the 16th for Craig Anderson....does he still do that on again off again poop every other year?

In my opinon? Jones, maybe. Talbot I don't think so. I'm not convinced Talbot is anything more than a back-up. I'm not convinced he's worth trading for after playing in front of this Rangers team. If he played the way he played in front of my Flyers, sure.

Ditto for Jones. These are two guys have really good squads in front of them. I'm not saying they suck. The idea of course is that you trade for this guy to take you to the playoffs in front of an (hopefully) equally as good team.

While I'd certainly be interested in trading for them, I dont know that I'm interested in paying what each team wants for them. Lehner, Anderson, and Gibson I'm definitely interested in. I'd actually give up a ton for Gibson.

i think he was talking about andersen (he mentioned anaheim) not anderson...........(frank)ing swedes and their english sounding names, messing with hockey fans for years.
