This is what I was thinking. No way he should get $7 million right now. I think we all agree that he will be a $7 million guy some day, but not right now. What other guys would you look at to compare his contract to? I would think something along the lines of Roman Josi from the Predators, but I don't think hell go $4 mil 7 years... It's probably going to be more like your mentioned at $5 mil for 3-4 years.

His numbers in many cases are better than Subbans, Pietrangelos, Doughty, Larrsons, etc.



Seems like a lot of wishful thinking about his contract.

The question is, would someone be willing to give him a $6 mil a year deal for six years?

If it's yes, and I believe that many teams will throw offer sheets at him.
Then why shouldn't he go to Sweeney and say hey........."show me the money!"[/img]
